Kydo, you were a big help with the "Battlesmith" background i set out to create a year ago. Any input you have is valuable--Rarelyfly (talk) 01:00, 5 October 2016 (MDT)

OK. My input:
  • Flavor: Delicious. Love it love it love it.
  • I like how the proficiencies give you a choice of being a scout or an intellectual.
  • Drop the packs, those contain a ton of actual gear and are provided by classes anyways.
  • The feature is a little bit vague. The missing ingredient is usefulness- a player or DM needs to have some sort of reason to invoke the feature's effect in play.
  • Reading the personality traits, I read the one about always accepting an enemy's surrender, then imagined an evil sentinel who, although he does not kill his foes, is happy to torture them, or sell them, or leave them for dead, or etc. I like traits which create whole new people when paired with seemingly unrelated or incongruous properties.
Overall, very good. I wanted to make or see more racial backgrounds, but then I kind of hit a creativity block and got distracted shortly thereafter, so it never happened. Very cool that this theme is coming back. Very cool that you're still contributing and active as well. --Kydo (talk) 04:44, 6 October 2016 (MDT)
Thanks for the input! I dropped the equipment packs, and swapped the original feature to a "criminal contact"-esque Noble, that can send the player on quests and help them out in various small ways. --Rarelyfly (talk) 18:30, 7 October 2016 (MDT)
