Here are corrections to your list:
  • Sam has been advanced to a Large creature. This gains him the following:
    • +1 to CR
    • bite damage raised to 1d4
    • Str +8, Dex -2, Con +4
    • Natural Armor +2 (increasing it to 7) and -1 to AC and attack rolls
  • Sam has advanced 20 HD (technically they can only advance to 15 HD Large but you are the DM). This gains him the following:
    • +7 feats (2 may be epic -- choose something to up the DC of your rust saves with both epic and non-epic feats. Ability Focus for example as a non-epic. You can also pick Improved Natural Armor to increase your AC)
    • +20 Skill points -- Paragon template is applied after the advancement
    • +15 BAB
    • +10 Will, +7 Fort, +7 Ref
    • 5 bonus points to add to ability scores (I would choose all Con to up the save DC of the rust and add more hp)
    • +5 CR
  • Sam is a paragon rust monster. This gains him the following:
    • max rolls on each hit die and +12 bonus hp per HD (for 775 = +200 HD, +300 Paragon, +275 Con total HP)
    • base speed x3 (for speed 120)
    • +12 insight bonus to AC and a +12 luck bonus to AC
    • +25 luck bonus on the attack roll, +20 luck bonus on Damage rolls
    • greater dispel, haste, and greater invisibility 3/day (CL 15)
    • Fire and cold resistance 10, DR 10/epic, SR (CR+25), fast healing 20.
    • +10 insight bonus on all its saving throws
    • all base ability scores get a +15 bonus
    • +10 competence bonus on all its skill checks, +1 feat (epic)
All in all, you can get a reflex save DC 33 with this creature for its rust. Not bad. This creature should come with other baddies that makes use of the party losing its melee combatants. It is a CR 23 encounter after all -- make it tough. --Aarnott 06:38, 18 February 2008 (MST)
Thanks so much. --Othtim 12:47, 18 February 2008 (MST)

Awakened aberration?[edit]

Awaken only works on trees and animals...how was a rust monster, an aberration, awakened? --Daniel Draco 19:22, 17 February 2008 (MST)

Well, I added it there because i felt it fit, but then I decided to add the paragon template instead of class levels. so i'll scrap it. --Othtim 01:32, 18 February 2008 (MST)
