Talk:Kirinzhai (5e Creature)

I created the Kirinzhai for a Dragonborn Paladin I'm playing. The idea of a Dragonborn seemed a little weird, and I wanted something as cool as the character is. When I did some searching, most of what I found was extremely overpowered for a 4th level character's steed. After all, you shouldn't ride something that's a better fighter than you are. I started working on some incarnation of a Drake, and even found someone who had created a Drake specifically for this purpose, but again it seemed a bit overpowered. My DM and I (also a DM with 30+ yrs experience) decided that some type of reskinned warhorse would be best. Another player had shared a picture of a ki-rin in our group discussion, which led me to look into them. From all of that was born the Kirinzhai, gift of Bahamut. I hope other Dragonborn Paladins can make use of this as a great steed for your character that your DM will actually approve.
