BAB correction

Looking at this class I would think that as the class relies on the summoned creatures to do the fighting not the character themselves wouldn't that build lend more towards a buffing character type class then a combat class. Would that not then bring the BAB more into range with say a poor base attack bonus like that of a wizard or sorcerer? That would balance the class perfectly.
