Talk:Eldritch Missiles (3.5e Invocation)

Just a suggestion. Your eldritch blast takes the form of Magic Missile. Roll your damage as one die type less (d6's become d4's, d8's become d6's, etc. You get one missile per 4 levels/HD, or part thereof.

I would also specify that, even though the blast LOOKS like Magic Missile, you still have to roll a ranged touch attack roll.

As it stands, this has no game effect. It's only cosmetic.

I would alter it as follows.

Your Eldritch Blast takes the form of a Magic Missile spell. Each 1d6 of damage is changed to 1d4+1, and counts as a separate missile. Yes, this means that at higher level, you will have more than 5 missiles, and this can give the game away. You can voluntarily limit the number of missiles you use. All other effects are resolved as per Magic Missile (Force Damage, Short Range, automatic hits, etc).

This change gives it a real benefit worth spending an invocation slot on.
