Comments[edit]

I think this article needs a lot of cleaning up. Besides word usage and spelling and such, there are a lot of undefined things involving these books.

  • What is the history of these powerful artifacts?
  • What type of bonus does the book give to stats? Right now it is untyped, which is too good even for an artifact (since it can be permanent).
  • Book of animals should probably emulate wildshape or an actual ability instead of "you can turn into any animal" -- ditto for undead and dragons.

If you need any help cleaning it up or have any questions, just ask. --Aarnott 11:32, 13 April 2007 (MDT)

Would you like to adopt this and make it better? It was added by an IP and really needs work (as you pointed out above). Anyway, would you mind working on this? --Green Dragon 18:04, 16 April 2007 (MDT)
It looks like it has been 5 days since I posted so it might be abandoned. I'll take over fixing this up (as time permits of course). I still have a lot to work on with some of the stuff I have nearly abandoned myself (oops!). --Aarnott 09:59, 18 April 2007 (MDT)
Sounds good :). --Green Dragon 10:06, 18 April 2007 (MDT)

Help[edit]

If anyone wants to help finish this, that is definitely cool with me :P. I'm sure you can see where it is going (a different dragon for each book). My ideas right now are:

Int: Silver dragon

Wis: Copper Dragon

Cha: Gold Dragon

Unknown Book: Prismatic Dragon

Animals: Brass Dragon

Dragons: Bahaumut (He is king of the dragons after all)

Undead: Dracolich? Not sure really.

Speed: Force Dragon

Humans: Silver Dragon or Gold Dragon

Air: Green Dragon

Earth: Blue Dragon

Fire: Red Dragon

Water: Bronze Dragon

I only repeat 3 times this way, which isn't all that bad (though I miss white). Feel free to edit this!

Why is Green Dragon air? I don't think how they act or what they have makes them related to air... What do you think? --Green Dragon 23:35, 18 April 2007 (MDT)
The only reason I made it air is because its subtype is air. I think Green is the only one with the air subtype. I was using different dragons in an elemental temple quest that I DMed and Green, Blue and Red were definitely used. I used a sea serpent creature instead of the Bronze Dragon though. --Aarnott 08:27, 19 April 2007 (MDT)

Wisdom 0[edit]

Maybe I'm remembering wrong, but I thought a Wisdom of 0 made people go crazy. I looked in the SRD just now, and it seems to make them unconscious... Any ideas of how to make people go mad if they read one of these books? --Aarnott 08:52, 19 April 2007 (MDT)

Some spell with permanency? These are artifacts after all... --Green Dragon 17:22, 19 April 2007 (MDT)
