Specialized Craft (Jujutsu Kaisen Supplement)
Specialized Craft[edit]
Spellcraft is the structured conversion of cursed energy into arcane effects. Unlike innate techniques, spells are rigid constructs—unnatural blueprints seared into cursed manuals called grimoires. To use Spellcraft is to abandon instinct and surrender to a lifeless system of precision, theory, and repetition. But in exchange, you achieve things that raw cursed energy alone could never produce.
- Specialized Craft
When casting a spell using Magecraft, you must spend a specific amount of cursed energy based on the spell’s level. If you do not have enough cursed energy, the spell fails. You cannot cast spells through any other means unless explicitly allowed by your cursed technique.
This system only applies to spells learned and cast through techniques such as Magecraft or similar cursed techniques.
Spellcraft Costs Use the table below to determine the cursed energy cost required to cast a spell of a given level:
Spell Level | Cursed Energy Cost |
---|---|
1st | 5 |
2nd | 10 |
3rd | 15 |
4th | 20 |
5th | 25 |
Spell Level Limit. You cannot cast spells of a level higher than your technique allows. For example, the Magecraft technique only grants access up to 5th-level spells at its highest tier.
Crackcasting. If you are missing up to 5 cursed energy required to cast a spell, you may attempt to force the spell through. Make a DC 15 + spell's level Intelligence (Arcana) check. On a success, the spell goes off as normal, but you suffer 1 level of exhaustion. On a failure, the spell fails and you take necrotic damage equal to 5 × the spell’s level that cannot be reduced in anyway.
