Spade Kingdom

In the farthest reaches of frost and fog lies the Spade Kingdom—bleak, vast, and ruthless. Possessing the greatest landmass of the four great realms, it stretches like a frozen wound across the continent, its borders ever inching forward beneath the weight of ambition and dread. Once a mere kingdom, now a crucible of conquest, it has been transformed under the iron will of the Dark Triad—rulers steeped in dark magic and darker purpose.

Relations with its neighbors—the Clover, Heart, and Diamond Kingdoms—have soured into bitter cold, as the Spade Kingdom wages a silent war of expansion. It creeps into the neutral zones like a gathering storm, its soldiers hardened by winter, its magic sharpened by desperation and domination.

To hail from the Spade Kingdom is to bear the weight of a land where power is paramount and weakness is erased. You may have been a loyal servant of the Triad, a child shaped by the cold yoke of the empire, or a fugitive fleeing tyranny and the burden of blood-soaked dreams. Whatever your path, the fog of Spade clings to you still—unrelenting, watchful, and ever-reaching.

Background Features

When choosing the Spade Kingdom background, you must choose one of the following background features.

Mage Defender

You are part of one of the four divisions of the Mage Defense Force, once set to protect the citizens and now exploit the citizens for labor. You have been trained in the military arts, and you’re ruthless in magic.

You have advantage on attack rolls against creature who are frightened of you.

Skill Proficiencies: Arcana, Intimidation.

Equipment: A official Mage Defense Force badge, a set of military clothing that are plain but functional, 15 GP.

Dark Disciple

You serve directly under the Dark Triad, maybe as a scholar or as one of their devil enhanced soldiers. This has made you grow naturally more attuned to dark magic.

You have advantage on saving throws caused by the usage of Dark Mana.

Skill Proficiencies: Arcana, Religion.

Equipment: A torn scrap of royal regalia, dark ceremonial robes, 15 GP.
