Soulshatter Chains
4th-level Necromancy
Casting time: 1 action
Range: 60 feet
Components: V, S
Duration: 1 round

You conjure chains made of fragmented souls, tearing through the boundary between life and death. Choose up to two creatures you can see within range. Each target must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or take 5d10 necrotic damage and become restrained by the spiritual chains until the end of its next turn. On a successful save, a target takes half damage and isn’t restrained.

Once, if a creature is reduced to 0 hit points by this spell, you can immediately target one additional creature within range as the tormented chains lash out once more. The new target must make a Wisdom saving throw against this spell, and is affected as normal.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d10 for each slot level above 4th, and you may target one additional creature when you initially cast this spell.
