Shadow Tiefling[edit]

Everyone knows the story of how some humans of a large and lost empire, in search of power, made a pact with the overlord of Nine Hells, infusing its essence and cursing their entire generation forever. But what many do not know is that after the fall of the empire, some survivors of the newly created race still sought for power. Among these, a man whose name is long forgotten traveled to the darkness of the shadowfell, and there his descendants were touched by the shadows. Their heritage went beyond the infernal pact. It transformed their skin in shades of gray and their hair went from white to black. Even the fire that runs through their veins was touched by the darkness.

A shadow tiefling has the following traits, which replace the tiefling's ability score increase, darkvision, hellish resistance and infernal legacy.

Age. Shadow tieflings age similarly to other tieflings, they mature at around 20, and live to be an upward of 120 years old.

Alignment. Most Shadow teiflings stray toward their inherently evil tendencies, and can range from chaotic to lawful.

Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Ability Score Increase. Your Intelligence, Wisdom or Charisma score increases by 2 and your Dexterity or Strength score increases by 1.
Superior Darkvision. You can see in dim light within 120 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Dark Resistance. You have resistance to necrotic damage.
Dark Presence. You may double your proficiency bonus for checks made with the Stealth and Intimidation skill.
Shadowfell Acclimation. Originating from the Shadowfell, you draw your power from the plain, and have heightened magical abilities pertaining to the dark magic. Necromancy spells you cast deal an extra 4 damage.
Shadow magic. You know the chill touch cantrip. At 3rd level, you can cast cause fear once as a 2nd-level spell. At 5th level, you may cast blindness/deafness once. You regain all uses of this ability after finishing a long rest. Intelligence or Charisma (The ability score increased by 2) is your spellcasting ability for these spells.
