Prometheans[edit]

Personality[edit]

Prometheans are almost always arrogant. They believe themselves superior to every other race, as their religion posits that they were the first sentient beings made by the brother gods Prometheus and Epimetheus.

They have a very strict culture, favoring law and structure. Their armies are known as being supremely organized, one battalion causing fear in an entire human army.

Physical Description[edit]

Prometheans stand eight to ten feet tall, though they're slender. They have unnaturally long arms, giving them long reach. They have a wiry strength to them. Their faces are beautiful and without flaw, even more so than an elf's. Their ears are pointed, but proportionally as large as a human's.

They have a metallic sheen to their skin and five different skin tones, upon which their caste system is based. Copperbacks are considered the lowest class, in charge of menial labor: hunting, farming, fishing, husbandry, and the like. Ironbacks, typically larger and more muscular, are the soldiers, mercenaries, and guards. Silverbacks are involved in the economy, becoming bankers and merchants. Goldbacks handle religion, the priests of the Promtheans. The Platinums, rarest of all skintypes, are the nobility and the law-makers.

Prometheans typically wear their hair long, and it's a richer shade of their skin color. Their large, almond-shaped eyes match their hair-color.

Relations[edit]

Prometheans typically ignore other races, not eager to associate with "inferior" beings. Some, however, reject their status as "superior" and quite like people of other races. These outsiders often abandon their culture and adventure with non-Prometheans.

Alignment[edit]

A typical Promethean leans to the Law side of the scale, although they're anywhere on the Good-Bad scale. Some who've abandoned their culture stray further to Chaos than others.

Lands[edit]

Prometheans aren't really affected by heat or cold, so they settle anywhere. They have large, well-organized cities that are often well-removed from other races, as they value their solitude.

Religion[edit]

The main deity of Prometheans is Prometheus, god of forethought and bringer of fire. It was Prometheus who created them from clay and gave them breath. Then, seeing as they had no claws or fur or toxins that his brother had given other creatures, he brought them fire and taught them how to use it.

Prometheus' brother, Epimetheus, is also worshiped as the creator of non-sentient life. The god of afterthought, his influence on Prometheans seems to be their impulsiveness. Many Prometheans act without thinking, much like Epimetheus.

Language[edit]

Prometheans speak Primalingua, the language from which all others derive. This said, they can learn all other languages easily.

Names[edit]

Promethean surnames are usually based on their caste: "Coppro," "Irron," "Sylvin," "Golrynn," "Plattum," etc.

Given names sound like names from any other race, or a combination thereof.
