Old Bloods[edit]

Born from a liquid crypt you are an embodiment of death

Racial Traits
Average Height: 5'8"-7'2"
Average Weight: 120lb-260lb
Ability Scores: +2 Constitution, +2 Intelligence or Wisdom
Size: Medium
Speed: 5 squares
Vision: Low-light
Languages: Common, Primordial
Skill Bonuses: +1 Arcana, Dungeoneering, Endurance and Intimidate
Undead: You are considered an undead creature for the purpose of effects that relate to that keyword. You are also considered a living creature.
Disease Resistant: You gain a +5 bonus to Endurance checks made to recover from a disease.
Ever Dead Flesh: Whenever you would gain hit points from a power with the Healing keyword, you instead gain temporary hit points.
Arcane Regeneration: Your arcane veil seals minor wounds instantly. If an attack roll made against you is equal to your defense score, you take half damage from that attack.
From the Grave: Your birthing crypt is cold, rotting, and filled with evil. thus you feel quite at home in such places. You gain resist 2 + 1/2 level to cold, necrotic and poison damage.
Greater Undead: you need not sleep, eat, or drink, you need take no endurance checks against suffocation, drowning, starvation, or dehydration.
No Blood, No Bleeding: You gain 2 extra HP per tier.

Target: All creatures in burst.
Attack: Constitution + 2 Vs. Will
Hit: 1d8 damage + Constitution modifer. If the target is undead, you gain hit points equal to the target's Wisdom modifier: This is not converted to temporary hit points by your ever dead flesh trait.
Level 11: Contitution + 4; 2d8 damage
Level 21: Constitution + 6; 3d8 damage



Play an Old Blood if you want...

  • Be an Undead with no master
  • Eat the souls of your slain foes
  • Be resistant to traditionally evil damage types
  • To be a member of a race that favors the Fighter, Paladin, Sword Mage, and Wizard classes.

Physical Qualities[edit]

Old bloods are lean, muscular humanoids with dull blue skin and pale eyes and hair. They have a bone crest on their forehead that extends to the back of their skull. Most have human-like hands, but some have developed four blunt claws. Similarly, their toes have two or three toughened claws. Most old blood's have webs of skin partially sealing their mouths. In the extreme, some are lipless with only a series of small holes that stretch when their jaw moves. This is of no detriment to a creature that has no need to breath or take in sustenance, and when such old bloods communicate, they resonantly "speak from the chest".

Playing an Old Blood[edit]

As an Old Blood you are typically mistaken as an undead, and thus entering into society is very difficult and uncommon, most Old Bloods roam around in a group of their own, or alone until they find someone who won't attempt to kill them on sight. as an old blood you may enter situations that would prove fatal to others and emerge nearly un-harmed this makes Old bloods very sought after members in adventuring parties.

Old Blood Adventurers[edit]

Three sample Old Blood adventurers are described below.

Clerena is an Old Blood Cleric she has made it her goal to discover a proper way to heal members of her race, thus she spends all of her time studying healing, and arcane energies to help her find a way to make it safer for her race in this world. When her party is in combat she tends to ignore the fighting aspect completely and focuses on keeping herself and her allies in top condition, when she does fight it is only when her party is in desperate need of help.

Slamna is an Old Blood Sword Mage he has devoted himself to slaying all that dare sully the Old Blood name hence forth he travels from city to city bringing the Old Bloods a good name and slaying all the dark undead that have made the others hateful towards him.

Destena is an Old Blood fighter that is undyingly devoted to Kord, he will slay all who challenge him and chase those down for weeks or even months who dare try to escape him. he also constantly challenges anyone who he thinks will be good in a fight regardless of how strong they are, lucky for his party he is not to difficult to bring back after he has gotten himself killed
