Manifesting Warrior[edit]

These psionic beings are warriors that use mind blades and psionic armor.

Making a Manifesting Warrior[edit]

They are originally good in close combat, they develop ranged ability early. They can work well with all types of party members.

Abilities: Strength, Dexterity and Constitution are required.

Races: This class is only available to characters with a power point reserve. It is likely to be taken by most psionic races.

Alignment: Any.

Starting Gold: 2d4 ×10 gp (50 gp). The Manifesting Warrior also receives a set of robes after his first meditation that he must wear to manifest his psionic armor. (He choses the color and style of the robes(they don't have to be shaped like robes.) If he loses/damages the robes he receives a new pair at his next meditation.(the old pair goes out of existence)) He may change the "robes" color and shape at will. These robes never have a penalty or a bonus. (to AC)

Class Features[edit]

All of the following are class features of the Manifesting Warrior.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Psionic Naturalists are proficient with their own mind blades, and with their own armor.

Meditation: The Manifesting Warrior must meditate for 1 hour a day to gather his psyychic energies.

Mind blade(Su): As a free action, a Manifesting Warrior can create a semisolid blade composed of psychic energy distilled from his own mind. The blade is identical in all ways (except visually) to a short sword of a size appropriate for its wielder. For instance, a Medium Manifesting Warrior materializes a Medium mind blade that he can wield as a light weapon, and the blade deals 1d6 points of damage (crit 19–20/×2). Manifesting Warriors who are smaller or larger than Medium create mind blades identical to short swords appropriate for their size, with a corresponding change to the blade’s damage. The wielder of a mind blade gains the usual benefits to his attack roll and damage roll from a high Strength bonus.

The blade can be broken (it has hardness 10 and 10 hit points); however, a Manifesting Warrior can simply create another on his next move action. The moment he relinquishes his grip on his blade, it dissipates (unless he intends to throw it; see below). A mind blade is considered a magic weapon for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction.

A Manifesting Warrior can use feats such as Power Attack or Combat Expertise in conjunction with the mind blade just as if it were a normal weapon. He can also choose mind blade for feats requiring a specific weapon choice, such as Weapon Specialization. Powers or spells that upgrade weapons can be used on a mind blade.

A Manifesting Warrior’s mind blade improves as the character gains higher levels. At 4th level and every four levels thereafter, the mind blade gains a cumulative +1 enhancement bonus on attack rolls and damage rolls (+2 at 8th level, +3 at 12th level, +4 at 16th level, and +5 at 20th level ect.).

Even in places where psionic effects do not normally function (such as within a null psionics field), a Manifesting Warrior can attempt to sustain his mind blade by making a DC 20 Will save (with a bonus of his level). On a successful save, the Manifesting Warrior maintains his mind blade for a number of rounds equal to his class level before he needs to check again. On an unsuccessful attempt, the mind blade vanishes. As a move action on his turn, the Manifesting Warrior can attempt a new Will save to re materialize his mind blade while he remains within the psionics negating effect.

Weapon Focus (Mind Blade): The Manifesting Warrior receives Weapon Focus (Mind Blade) as a bonus feat at 1st level.

Throw Mind Blade (Ex): A Manifesting Warrior can throw his mind blade as a ranged weapon with a range increment of 30 feet. Whether or not the attack hits, a thrown mind blade then dissipates.

Psionic Armor (Su): As a move action, the Manifesting Warrior can manifest psionic armor of any light or medium armor. This receives a +1 bonus per four levels. It has hardness and hit points equal to a normal type of similar armor.

Evasion (Ex): At 2nd level or higher if a Manifesting Warrior makes a successful Reflex saving throw against an attack that normally deals half damage on a successful save, he instead takes no damage. Evasion can be used only if a Manifesting Warrior is not wearing heavy armor or a shield. A helpless Manifesting Warrior does not gain the benefit of evasion.

Free manifest (Su): The Manifesting Warrior becomes able to materialize his mind blade or psionic armor as a free action instead of a move action. He can make only one attempt to materialize the mind blade per round, however.

Mind blade Enhancement (Su): At 4th level, a Manifesting Warrior gains the ability to enhance his mind blade. He can add any one of the weapon special abilities on the table below that has an enhancement bonus value of +1.

At every four levels beyond 4th (8th, 12th, 16th, and 20th), the value of the enhancement a Manifesting Warrior can add to his weapon improves to +2, +3, +4 and +5, respectively. A Manifesting Warrior can choose any combination of weapon special abilities that does not exceed the total allowed by the Manifesting Warrior’s level.

The weapon ability or abilities remain the same every time the Manifesting Warrior materializes his mind blade (unless he decides to reassign its abilities; see below).

Manifesting Warriors in the World[edit]

You may say that now but when it comes to a fight, I'll be there.
—Sabre, Elan warriorblood Manifesting Warrior

The Manifesting Warrior is primarily a fighter type, he uses his mind blades and armor for combat. They have a lot of confidence in their abilities and therefore may get into a lot of fights with barbarians and other strong fighters. They seek out quests to further their skills and may use the profits for magical accessories or buying and maintaining his lands(depending on the DM's flexibility).

Daily Life: Adventuring and killing things, proving his worth.

Notables: (Add yours).

Organizations: This class go into a lot of combat competitions and adventure to further their skills.

NPC Reactions: Either surprised or look down on his lack of weaponry.

Manifesting Warrior Lore[edit]

Characters with ranks in Knowledge(Psionics) can research Manifesting Warriors to learn more about them. When a character makes a skill check, read or paraphrase the following, including information from lower DCs.

Knowledge(Psionics)
DC Result
5 He is a psionic being.
10 He can manifest things.
15 He can manifest mind blades and psionic armor.
20 He manifests mind blades and psionic armor in combat. A mind blade is a blade that resembles a short sword. Psionic armor is light or medium armor.

Manifesting Warriors in the Game[edit]

They are the complete warrior, they have no need to interact with most people and normally don't do so. They are very competitive with other combatants and most psionic classes.

Adaptation: The class may wither be a person seeking strength or the perfect fight. They may also just be a money wanter or possibly a defender of the people.

Sample Encounter: The lone character that doesn't look so strong. Just looking like a non-combat civilian, dressed in robes and without any weapons. This character can cause a fight or be included it some type of combat.
