Kagune, Ukaku[edit]

Striking from afar with their winged and jagged Kagune, they attack with sharp crystals at a distance, and with their sharp wings at close range if needed.

Making a Kagune, Ukaku[edit]

Their Kagune allows them to strike form afar. However, their severe lack of physical strength and stamina forces them to fight short battles.

Abilities: Dexterity is a must for a Kagune, Ukaku. A much needed boost into their Constitution is also needed. Strength can be lacking if needed.

Races: Ghoul (TG) Only.

Alignment: Any.

Starting Gold: 4d6×10 gp

Starting Age: Any age is allowed, though many are Moderate.

Class Features[edit]

All of the following are class features of the Kagune, Ukaku.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: A Kagune, Ukaku is proficient in Simple weapons only. They cannot wield armor, as it prevents their Kagune from properly spawning, but are proficient with all shields except Tower.

Kagune: The lifeblood of the Kagune, Ukaku. When active, it takes the form of a set of long, blood red, misty wings. When in combat, they solidify into crystal-like fragments that can be used for a few combat styles. The Kagune may be used as a 'Claw' or a Gore, both of which deal damage equal to the size of the Kagune, Ukaku. The 'Claw' deals 1d4, 19-20, x2; and the Gore deals 1d6, 20, x2. Also, a Kagune, Ukaku may attack at a range with their Kagune Wings, firing a small stream of jagged blood-like crystals at the target. It's damage is 1d8, 20, x3.

A Kagune, Ukaku can activate their Kagune as a free action on their turn, and as a free action to retract it as well. Wings have a melee reach of 10ft. The ranged attack of a Kagune, Ukaku may reach 60ft. A Kagune, Ukaku may attack with their Kagune in conjunction with manufactured weapons as secondary attacks at a -5 to hit and half the Kagune, Ukaku's strength mod. A Kagune may only attack one creature, no matter the size of the Kagune, as it is the end of the Kagune that is attacking. Feats may be taken to improve the Kagune, and the Kagune in any and all cases is a Natural Weapon.

The Kagune of a Kagune, Ukaku is a bit on the fragile side. It has an AC equal to the Kagune, Ukaku's Base and Natural AC + 5, a Hardness of the Kagune, Ukaku's Base and Natural, and 20 HP. It is also light enough to be used on conjunction with Weapon Finesse for the 'Claw' and Gore attacks. When attacked and depleted of HP, the Kagune is cut off, and the Kagune, Ukaku takes any access damage the Kagune would have taken. It takes one hour to regrow a Kagune.

Wingover: Once at 3rd level, the Kagune, Ukaku gains Wingover as a bonus feat. He also gains a Fly speed equal to his base land speed as Poor Maneuverability.

Kagune Growth: At 4th level, and every 4 levels after, the Kagune, Ukaku gains an additional 10ft to their Projectile Range. When they receive their second range increase, their Wings 'Claw' and Gore attack increase their range to 15ft. With their third range increase, a Kagune, Ukaku may alter their Wing Shard attack by making a scatter of Shards in a 15ft cube around the target of their Shard attack.

Kagune Spread: At 5th level, and every 5 levels after, the Kagune, Ukaku gains +10 to their Fly Speed, and increases their flying capability up one step, to a maximum of Perfect Fly speed.

Kagune Power: At 6th level, and at 12th and 18th level, the Kagune of a Kagune, Ukaku grows more powerful. At 6th level, the 'Claw' and Gore damage grow by one step, to 1d6 and 1d8. The Wing Shards grow one step as well,to 2d6 damage and add the Kagune, Ukaku's Dexterity Modifier into the damage. At 12th level, the 'Claw' and Gore deal 2d6 and 2d8 damage respectively, and the Wing Shards dead 3d6. At 18th level, the 'Claw' and Gore damage raises to 4d6 and 4d8, and the Wing Shards raise to 5d6.

Deadly Kagune: At 9th level, the power of a Kagune, Ukaku grows more. The 'Claw' Crit range is now 18-20, and the Gore and Wing Shards Crit range is 19-20.

Kagune Scatter: At 11th level, when a Kagune, Ukaku is caught in melee range, he may make a burst attack with his Wing Shard attack and instantly move backwards up to half their flight speed to retreat. The burst range is a 10ft AoE around the Kagune, Ukaku with a Reflex save of DC 10 + 1/2 Kagune, Ukaku's Level + Their Dex mod to receive half damage.

Kagune Flourish: At 13th level, a Kagune, Ukaku may attack a 25ft cone in front of them with their Wing Shard attack.

Vicious Kagune: At 14th level, the Kagune of a Kagune, Ukaku grows more deadly. The 'Claw' and Gore Crit damage is now x3, the Wing Shard Crit damage is now x4.

Ex-Kagune, Ukaku[edit]

If a Kagune, Ukaku, for some reason, is no longer a Ghoul, then they lose all class levels and are replaced with another class.

Kagune Spread: A Kagune, Ukaku's fly speed continues to grow by 10ft every 5 levels.

Kagune Growth: The range of a Kagune, Ukaku's Wing Shards continue to grow, increasing the range by 10ft.

Ghoul Kagune, Ukaku Starting Package[edit]

Weapons: Daggerx2 (1d4, 19-20,x2).

Skill Selection: Pick a number of skills equal to 4 + Int modifier.

Campaign Information[edit]

Playing a Kagune, Ukaku[edit]

Religion: Kagune, Ukaku tend not to worship, only doing so to blend in with their society.

Other Classes: Other Kagune classes tend to function very well with a Kagune, Ukaku. Also, Rangers, other types of ranged fighters, and spell casting classes tend to enjoy the feeling of a strong protector with them.

Combat: Kagune, Ukaku stay far from combat, always at the furthest that their Wing Shards she be fired form, attacking from a range.

Advancement: A Kagune, Ukaku cannot multiclass into any class that is another Kagune class.

Kagune, Ukaku in the World[edit]

Daily Life: Feeding when not seen, and attacking Humans, Kagune, Ukaku are almost always shunned and attacked on sight.

Organizations: Kagune users tend not to assemble, but those that do usually live in small groups for protection sake.

NPC Reactions: Most, if not all, NPCs in towns attack Kagune, Ukaku on sight due to their feeding needs.

Characters with ranks in Knowledge (Local) can research Kagune, Ukaku to learn more about them. When a character makes a skill check, read or paraphrase the following, including information from lower DCs.
