Hoar foxes, found in chilly environments, are commonly seen traveling in small groups and tend to be non-aggressive unless provoked. Their exquisite silver-grey fur is highly prized, with an undamaged pelt fetching a hefty sum of 100 gold pieces in markets. Consequently, adventurers frequently pose a threat to them due to the value of their fur. It's worth noting that fire will render the pelt worthless.

Combat[edit]

A common tactic employed by hoar foxes is to use their speed and agility to dart in and out of combat, harassing their foes with quick strikes of their icy breath.

Breath Weapon (Ex) Their main weapon is a breath weapon, a ray of cold with a range of 30 ft, only wide enough to catch one victim. This Ranged Touch Attack does 2d4 of cold damage, a Fortitude saving throw (DC 11) halves damage. The save DC is Constitution-based.
