Heroic Strike (5e Class Feature)

Heroic Strike[edit]

Beginning when you reach 6th level, you can make a heroic strike in place of a normal attack. A heroic strike automatically hits regardless of any modifiers or the target's AC, as if it were a critical hit, and the damage of a heroic strike is double the attack's damage die, also if it were a critical hit, then maximized. For example, if you had a Strength of 20 and were wielding a greatsword, you could make a heroic strike to automatically deal 29 slashing damage (5 + two times 12, the maximum damage for a greatsword) against a creature in place of a normal attack. Any features that normally trigger on critical hits do trigger on a heroic strike, but features that specially only trigger on a natural 20 don't trigger on a heroic strike. Once you have used this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest. You can use this feature twice between rests starting at 11th level and three times between rests starting at 16th level. This feature replaces the Ability Score Improvement that fighters normally get at 6th level.
