You were born years, decades, perhaps even centuries forwards in the timestream. However, whether due to the influence of a god or a magical mishap, you were sent hurtling into the past- your past - , and now live amongst figures you thought were merely myth and legend.

Skill Proficiencies: Medicine, Insight

Languages: Two of your choice.

Equipment: A set of fine clothes, 10 sheets of parchment, ink and quill, one trinket representative of the future state of the world, and a belt pouch containing 100 gp

How Did This Happen?[edit]

Aberrations in the timestream are incredibly rare, and normally closely monitored by the multiverse. To determine why you were sent back through time, roll on the table below or choose from the options provided. The Personal Characteristics section discusses the methods behind your time travel in more detail.

d6 Reason d6 Reason
1 Exile 4 Soldier
2 Researcher 5 Wanderer
3 Fugitive 6 Sightseer

Feature: Well-Informed[edit]

When meeting particularly important people or experiencing world-altering events, you often recall "history" taught during your future life that provides additional information. Your DM may rule that the passage of time did not deem this situation worthy of being recorded, or may even provide only partially correct or completely false information due to historical inaccuracies.

Suggested Characteristics[edit]

For a Futureborn, living in the world of the past means resigning ones' self to conspiciousness. Your accent, mannerisms, figures of speech, and even your clothing and fighting styles are abnormal to everyone around you. This can be a nuisance, when trying to hide your true nature and immerse yourself amid the populace, or a blessing in disguise, giving you the attention of wizards, scholars, and many others interested in what the future holds.

d8 Personality Trait
1 Jokes, exaggeration, sarcasm, figures of speech- I'm oblivious to it all.
2 I can't help but constantly talk to everyone I see, constantly- the people here are so strange!
3 I'm not fazed by any disaster- I already know how it all ends.
4 I often get caught poring over minute, unimportant details- like the design on the stonework of an old building.
5 I enjoy quoting scholars and sayings I grew up with- even if these people won't understand it for another century.
6 I would rather observe than meddle.
7 I fawn over anyone important I meet- if they like me, maybe I'll be mentioned in the history books!
8 I constantly make up stories about how famous I am in the future- it's not like they'll know, right?
d6 Ideal
1 Knowledge. We must learn from the past, or we are doomed to repeat it. (Neutral)
2 Change. History is still malleable, and should be molded as necessary. (Chaotic)
3 Power. My knowledge of the past will let me bend it to my whims. (Evil)
4 Benevolence. History may say they suffer, but I have a chance to extend mercy. (Good)
5 Order. What has happened, will happen again. Changing history is wrong, I must merely help it along. (Lawful)
6 Opportunity. Very few get a chance to experience the past. I should make the most of it. (Any)
d6 Bond
1 I was sent to the past as a punishment due to crimes I committed in the future.
2 I was sent to fix a broken future by changing events for the better.
3 Our information on this time period is woefully lacking. I can correct that right now.
4 I've been hopping from time to time, and I have no idea how to get back to the future.
5 A major event is happening soon, and I want to be able to witness it in person.
6 The gods are about to exterminate the universe for our failures. I was given time to show we deserve a second chance.
d6 Flaw
1 I'm far too confident for my own good.
2 My fear of disrupting the timeline often leads to indecision.
3 I don't need to take responsibility for my actions if I can claim it'd happen anyway.
4 I sometimes think my decisions are the only important ones.
5 I'll conceal important info because I worry it will disrupt the timestream.
6 I accidentally killed someone very important to history. I'm sure it's not THAT big a deal.
