Full-Auto Firearm Modification (5e Equipment)

From D&D Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

These are modifications for converting single-shot weapons to automatic fire. They are applicable to any Modern or Futuristic firearm, what has no Short Burst quality or Short Burst 1.

Weapon gets Short Burst 2. Weapon's ammo capacity triples if it originally had no Short Burst quality - or is increased by 1.5 times rounding up, if it originally had Short Burst 1.

If weapon is slow-firing automatic (Short Burst 1) or semi-automatic, it's cost and rarity remains the same. If weapon is manual-action (break-action, bolt-action, lever-action, pump-action, etc), it's rarity increases one step - it's possible to turn such weapons into automatics, doing so is quite complicated (e.g. Huot Automatic Rifle and Charlton Automatic Rifle are bolt-action rifles turned into light machineguns). Modern and Futuristic non-automatic weapons are, by default, assumed to be semi-automatics.

Additionally, extended magazines can further double ammo capacity of any automatic weapon, be it factory-made or converted. Cost and rarity remains the same.

Also, weapon can be downgraded for civilian market. In such case, it looses Short Burst 2, ammo capacity is divided by 3 rounding up. Since doing this is detrimental, adventurers don't need any downgraded weapons.
