Feychild[edit]

You are a native of the Feywild. You have been immersed in the cruel and beautiful magics of Faerie your entire life, learning quickly that a clever trick can end with your death just as easily as it can end with your praise. Your ethereal nature bleeds into every aspect of your life, earning you descriptions such as eccentric, ethereal and flighty. You would just as soon hinder someone or help them, depending entirely on your mood at the time. While you may be whimsical in nature, you feel passionately about everything you do.

Skill Proficiencies: Nature and Deception

Tool Proficiencies: One type of musical instrument, or Tinker's Tools.

Languages: Sylvan

Equipment: An instrument (one of your choice), a keepsake from the Feywild (a precious stone, artifact, or piece of the land), a set of natural clothes and a belt pouch containing 15 gp.

Fey Nature[edit]

The nature of the inhabitants of Faerie is as varied as stars, and your nature impacts many things, including how you interact with outsiders and which Court you may represent. Choose your nature as a denizen of the Feywild, or roll on the table below.

5 Wildling

Feature: Faerie Bond[edit]

You share a bond with those of fey blood. You are able to speak to and reason with fey creatures, and avoid conflict with most fey beasts provided you or your party members have not caused damage to it. You can persuade fey creatures to answer your questions without entering into a deal provided they have high enough intelligence to do so, show you hidden paths, sources of food and water, and safe locations in forests and other areas where nature reigns.

Suggested Characteristics[edit]

The fey are, by nature, mischievous and playful, but not all of the Feywilds' inhabitants find enjoyment from sinister means. Like most of Faerie is divided amongst the Seelie and Unseelie courts, there are fey who simply delight in festivities and celebration, rather than chaos and trickery. While most fey still tend to tease and deceive, many who care to venture from their realm often have larger goals than simple trickery and revelry.

5 A favor for a favor, one-sided charity doesn’t pay well.
6 If I could make those around me laugh and smile, then there is little I would not do.
7 Praise, seduction and flattery is a small price to pay to gain control over others.
8 Every day is a new adventure and every path a chance to see and experience new and exciting things.

5 I have travelled to unfamiliar lands in hope of seeking sanctuary from those hunting me.
6 I aim to spread the revelry of my homeland with the pitiful and downtrodden.
d6 Flaw
1 I lack empathy for those affected by my actions.
2 I will deceive and manipulate to get what I want.
3 I lose interest and get distracted easily.
4 I have caused unhappiness for the sake of my own amusement.
5 I live for my own enjoyment and take nothing seriously.
6 My curiosity and naivety often lead me into questionable or dangerous situations.

Variant Feychild: Feythrall[edit]

Not everyone who resides in the Feywild does so willingly. Between the enchanting magic of the realm and the clever manipulations of its inhabitants, there are those who have had the misfortune of stumbling into the Feywild unaware, only to be lost or trapped for the remainder of their days. Many of these unlucky creatures are either lost to the confusing magics of the vibrant dystopia, or targeted by one of its many devious inhabitants, falling under their spell or into their servitude often by underhanded means. The law of Faerie is no easier to understand than the actions of those who call it home, and often as unpredictable as the whims of those who enforce it; and for many visitors, the very eccentricity of these laws are what seal their fate as a servant of the fey.
