Drug Effects[edit]

This set of rules exists so you can have set mechanics to effect a character who is under the effects of alcohol and/or drugs. This guideline is set up for characters who are familiar with the substance they are consuming but not yet dulled to it's effects. It is up to the DM to decide at what point a character is under each level of affect.

Effects[edit]

Alcohol

Alcohol has the effect of lowering a character's ability to react quickly to the world around them and preform fine motor skills.

Effect Level Effects
Minor

Benefits: +1 Fortitude to resist pain.

Penalties: -1 Attack, -1 Reflex, -1 to Dex Skills
Medium

Benefits: +2 Fortitude to resist pain.

Penalties: -2 Attack, -2 Reflex, -4 to Dex Skills
Major

Benefits: +4 Fortitude to resist pain.

Penalties: -4 Attack, -4 Reflex, -8 to Dex Skills
Extreme

Benefits: +6 Fortitude to resist pain.

Penalties: -6 Attack, -6 Reflex, -12 to Dex Skills
Overdose Character goes unconscious and must be treated within 12 hours or roll a Fortitude Check with a DC of 20. If they pass they become stable. If not they die in 1d4 hours without extensive medical care.

Cocaine

Cocaine increases a characters jump reflexes and pain tolerance. It also tends to make them paranoid and less Charismatic.

Minor

Benefits: +1 Fortitude to resist pain, +1 Reflex

Penalties: -2 to Cha Skills, Mild Paranoia
Medium

Benefits: +2 Fortitude to resist pain, +2 Reflex

Penalties: -4 to Cha Skills, Paranoia
Major

Benefits: +4 Fortitude to resist pain, +4 Reflex

Penalties: -8 to Cha Skills, Increased Paranoia
Extreme

Benefits: +6 Fortitude to resist pain, +4 Reflex

Penalties: -12 to Cha Skills, Extreme Paranoia

Related Feats[edit]

Drunk Driver

Prerequisites: 8 Ranks of Drive, 14 Dex, Accustomed to Alcohol.

Benefit: The Character is used to driving while under the influence of alcohol. While driving drunk they receive a penalty two effect levels lower than they should.

Improved Drunk Driver

Prerequisites: 8 Ranks of Drive, 14 Dex, Accustomed to Alcohol and Drunk Driver Feat.

Benefit: The Character is used to driving while under the influence of alcohol. While driving drunk they receive no penalty.

Charismatic Drunk

Prerequisites: 15 Charisma, Accustomed to Alcohol.

Benefit: Charisma bonus equal to Fortitude Bonus for Effect Level.

Drunk Fighter

Prerequisites: +3 BAB, Accustomed to Alcohol.

Benefit: The Character receives no penalty to attack rolls when drunk.
