Dragonborn Variant[edit]

Born with a purer dragon bloodline the Royal variant Dragonborns are deeply connected to their dragon roots, with wings remeniscent of the great dragons, they are revered by the dragonborn citizens of which they rule. Royal variants have more draconic physical traits, yet are generally thinner, with much more pristine scales than are present on the commonfolk's bodies.

Your pure bloodline manifests your inherent dragonborn powers in unique ways. The Dragonborn Royal line are much closer to dragons and have wings that are usable for short distance flight. Your Standing Long Jumps count as Running Long Jumps for the purposes of distance, and you can utilize your wings to slow your descent when falling. The Dragonborn Royal takes no falling damage while they are conscious and their wings are intact.
Ability Score Increase. Your Strength score increases by 1, and your Charisma score increases by 2.
Age. Due to purer bloodlines royal dragonborn age slower than regular dragonborn, living 50 additional years on average.
Alignment. Due to their inherent domineering natures, young dragonborn royals tend to embrace their chaotic natures, however older, seasoned royals tend towards lawful alignments.
Size. Dragonborn royals are taller than the standard dragonborn, standing around 7 feet tall, however they tend to be somewhat slimmer than their standard counterparts. Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and Draconic and one other language of your choice. Draconic is thought to be one of the oldest languages and is often used in the study of magic. The language sounds harsh to most other creatures and includes numerous hard consonants and sibilants.

Draconic Ancestry. You have draconic ancestry. Choose one type of dragon from the Draconic Ancestry table. Your draconic projectile and damage resistances are determined by the dragon type, as shown in the table.

Draconic Projectile. As an action, you can exhale and fire a projectile from your mouth as per the fire bolt cantrip. You do not require components to use this trait and the damage type of the cantrip is the same as your draconic ancestry. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for it.

Reactive Resistance. When you are hit by elemental damage that matches the damage type associated with your Draconic Ancestry, you may use your reaction to gain resistance to that damage type until the start of your next turn. Once you use this trait you cannot use it again until you complete a short or long rest.

Winged Inheritance. You have a glide speed of 30 feet and can travel twice as far when jumping.
