Dire Chicken (4e Creature)
From D&D Wiki
These completely bald chickens can grow to a meter (3 ft) tall or more. Many have weird spike-like protrusions from their spinal cord.
Dire Chicken Tactics
Dire Chickens employ hit-and-run tactics. They surprise unsuspecting PCs by hiding behind corners, pecking their foes once or twice and then running away to hide again.
Dire Chickens feed primarily on plants, insects and rodents. If a Plant or Swarm type enemy is present, a flock of Dire Chickens will focus on that foe first, surrounding the opponent for a feeding frenzy.
