D.A.T.S.[edit]

I'm with the Digimon Data Squad, or Digimon Accidents Tactics Squad. Our job is to control Digimon who come here from the Digital World and protect the public from them.
—D.A.T.S. Member, Yoshino Yoshi Fujieda

Inside the D.A.T.S.[edit]

The Digimon Accidents Tactics Squad are a bunch of Tamers and Digi-Destined alike who traverse the Real World with their Partner Digimon. They have several bases across different countries, allowing them to be totaled to one of the largest companies in the world. In recent times, it's been combined with the company Hypnos, a company of old that had been used to try and exterminate all Digimon. After a battle and a takeover, Hypnos and D.A.T.S. ended up combining and unifying their mission to become a better world protector and company. They prioritize preventing common folk from knowing about Digimon, working in the shadows as much as possible. At the top is the elites that control each of the main bases in a country, and most of them are unknown. To the rest of the D.A.T.S. members, they're known as the Elite Commanders, and they hold shared authority over the D.A.T.S. No one is sure of how D.A.T.S. is funded, but it's very clearly a government institute of some kind.

Following the Elite Members, there are the normal soldiers, often known as Agents. Agents are basically those who work on the field with a partner digimon. Most of these people are members from the take-over between Hypnos and D.A.T.S., though some come in due to being related to previous agents. In rare cases, you are invited into the D.A.T.S., usually because of some skill you possess that would make you an excellent addition to the Agency.

Goals of the D.A.T.S.[edit]

There are several goals of the D.A.T.S. Agency, with the biggest and most important being protecting humans from creatures known as Digimon. However, even with that main goal, their side goal is to contain Digimon within the Digital World. As such, agents often traverse between Digital Gates in order to take down bigger threats in the Digital World while a smaller team of agents take down any that bleed into the Real World.

D.A.T.S. Characters[edit]

Alignment: Despite the merging, and their goals which would believe you to think most of the Agents and Digimon are Lawful Good, they're actually Lawful Neutral. They work only in the interest of their mission and goals, and sometimes bad things, even if they try to prevent them, must happen for the greater good. They often also only follow the orders they're given, hence the Lawful Neutral alignment. Suggested Races: Members of the D.A.T.S. are either human or digimon. Suggested Classes: If you're a Human, the suggested class is Digi-Destined/Tamer (Digimon Supplement) while if you're playing a Digimon, the suggested class is Digimon.

You might enjoy playing a D.A.T.S. guild character if any of the following sentences describe you:

  • You follow orders as if lives depended on them.
  • You want to learn more about The Digital World and Digimon.
  • You have ambitions that require the worlds to stay separate.
  • You want to rise through the ranks and become a leader.

Joining the D.A.T.S.[edit]

Agents of the D.A.T.S. members are usually recruited due to some latent potential they have within them that involves Digimon. Oftentimes, another Agent or a Commander will find you and ask you a series of questions sort of like a test. After that, if you answered them all thoroughly and if any other references are pulled through, they'll test you with a field test and see if you're compatible with any partner Digimon. If you already have a Digimon, you can skip this step. If everything goes well, you'll start at the bottom of the food chain as an Agent of D.A.T.S., working with a team of agents.

Background: D.A.T.S. Member[edit]

As a member of the D.A.T.S., your work becomes your life. You focus not on what you believe, but rather on what your organization believes is best and how you should obtain that. While they don't ask you to live and die for them, you are born to accomplish their goals however you prefer. The D.A.T.S. has been around for a while, working with countless agents and recently undergoing a merging that made them more powerful than ever before. Their work for governments and intervention preventing the common world from knowing about Digimon beyond fictional beliefs(if that's even the case for the majority) is to be thanked by members of this organization. Many of the D.A.T.S. Commanders find D.A.T.S. Agents of regular to be steadfast in their work, but do it in whatever unique way they prefer.

D.A.T.S. makes it a point to fashion their Agents to focus on the work but do it however they please so long as it promotes their goals and isn't in direct contrast. In many ways, members of the D.A.T.S. could be seen as brainwashed workers, though everything they do is fully optional. The main goal of D.A.T.S. members is to hide the knowledge that Digimon is real and to keep them within the digital world. Additionally, they regulate how many powerful Digimon stay in the digital world and handle issues within the said world as well, to prevent any issues from spilling into the Real World.

How did you end up an agent in this organization? Was it the fact you were born into it? Did you get invited into it by a commander? Were you involved in a situation in which Digimon was revealed to you and selected others, thus having no choice in the matter or else risking life imprisonment to keep the secret?

Skill Proficiencies: Investigation and Animal Handling
Languages: Common
Tool Proficiencies: Any Model Digivice and Digital Kit
Equipment: A set of fine clothes, a digital kit, a book that contains all of the D.A.T.S. Rules, an I.D. that shows proof of being an Agent in D.A.T.S., a pouch containing 10 GP, and a pouch containing 1,000 bits

Feature: Agents of D.A.T.S.[edit]

Agents of D.A.T.S. often have a higher level of security clearance than other commoners, allowing them to get their hands on information that others normally would not have. People within government or government-like positions will often be more trusting toward you if you can prove you're a member of D.A.T.S., thus allowing you to have more ways to obtain information. When working with other people in positions of governing, they'll be more likely to provide things for you in exchange for favors that usually pertain to everyday tasks. However, if you provide proof of working for D.A.T.S. toward illegal criminals, they may be way less inclined to be an informational source.

Suggested Characteristics[edit]

Members of D.A.T.S. are pretty self-involved, putting on fronts in public and being quite capable people. There are quirks, however, that still shine through to show that you are your own person, and it helps differentiate even the tightest-lipped members.

D.A.T.S. Contacts[edit]

Contact Description
Commander Sampson The only commander who works with Agents readily and helps do recruit and other tasks and has a partner Digimon Kudamon. His power is one of the higher-end Commanders, often being unmatched by any normal Agent due to the levels he is able to reach via Kudamon.
Marcus Damon (Special Agent) A Special Agent of D.A.T.S., Marcus Damon had a rough time when he was first introduced to the D.A.T.S. Agency, but has quickly become one of the most relied upon. He works in a team with Thomas H. Norstein and Yoshino "Yoshi" Fujieda, though in recent years has dedicated his time to helping new recruits and working with them unless needed for a bigger mission with his main team. He is a Human capable of FIGHTING with Digimon without the use of his own, Agumon.
Thomas Norstein (Special Agent) A Special Agent of D.A.T.S., Thomas Norstein works in a team with Marcus Damon and Yoshino "Yoshi" Fujieda, spending his time on the front lines in the Digital World handling bigger issues. His partner is Gaomon.
Yoshi Fujieda (Special Agent) A Special Agent of D.A.T.S., she's often referred to as Yoshi by anyone who meets her. She's pretty kind and compassionate, though is quick to anger and will not take no for an answer when it comes to doing your job. She works in a team with Thomas H. Norstein and Marcus Damon, though in recent years has been going through trials to try and become a Commander. Her partner is Lalamon.

How Do I Fit In?[edit]

What is your character's place in the agency? You may want to consult the background portion of this page when thinking of how you ended up here. If you're in the lower ranks, you're probably an agent who works with others in groups that have more experience or equal experience as you, with a leader as well to watch you. And if you perform well enough, there can be an opportunity down the road for you to climb the ladder and eventually reach the status of 'Commander'.

D.A.T.S. Party[edit]

Agents are usually put into groups of three minimum, with an Agent who has worked there for at least a few months being the leader of the party. They're sorted to have Human Agents with varying skills and their Partner Digimon that complement one another. Often times if two Agents are put in the same party that have near-identical skills, it's basically they can perform something advanced, like Jogress.

Rank and Renown[edit]

The ranks are basically how every member is sorted, and as such have varying degrees of further rules and what's allowed to be done. The higher ranks are often given more difficult tasks, while the lower ones aren't. The following ranks are listed from the lowest to the highest ranking.

Basic Agent. The lowest level of agents within the Agency. These are often issued very basic missions and work in several groups with superiors.
Senior Agent. These are Agents that have been within the Agency for at least 6 months, having a higher rank and more clearance level than a Basic Agent. They're given slightly more free rein, now allowed to pick a squad they can work with instead of being assigned one.
First Sergeant Agent. These are Agents that are promoted due to higher excellence. Similar to Senior Agents, they have a higher rank and more clearance and are promoted to this rank due to nomination by the Special Agent rank members.
Special Agent. Agents are given this rank specifically by their Commanders, they are the highest normal Rank an Agent can achieve through years of hard work. They have the most clearance beside a Commander, and often have such power that they needn't groups if they don't want them, with their Digimon often reaching Ultimate (Mega) Level.
Commander. The leader of different command posts/centers within different countries, being at the top of the pecking order in the locations they work at. Only 1 Commander exists per post, making the number of total Commanders very few and far between. They have practically as much security clearance as the Core Commander, able to assign missions and do practically as they please. They attain this rank through recognition of the Core Commanders, and despite having Ultimate (Mega) Level Digimon, theirs are typical of the X-ANtibody variety, making them even more powerful than the Special Agents.
Core Commander. The leader of this group. There are only 3 in existence, and no one has ever seen any of them. Their power is rumored is to be so high that their partner Digimon are members of the Olympus XII, Royal Knights, and Digimon Sovereign ranks respectively.
