College of the Mesmer
Any bard can mess with the minds of their foes, the Mesmer takes that art and perfects it. Using their skills, the Mesmer can cause serious confusion and mental anguish amongst the enemy ranks.
- Conjure Nightmares
When you join this college at 3rd level, you gain the ability to conjure nightmarish visions in the target. At the start of each of the targets next 3 turns, it takes 1d6 points of psychic damage. Each creature or person can only be affected by one use of this spell at a time and you can use this ability equal to your charisma modifier times per long rest. The damage increases to 2d6 at level 6 and to 4d6 at level 14.
- Images of Remorse
Starting at 6th level, you gain an extra reaction. You also gain the ability to attempt to counteract your opponents attacks. As a reaction, when a target within 60 feet of you that you can see makes a melee attack, you can send images of remorse into their mind to impose disadvantage on the attack. If that attack does hit, the target suffers half the damage inflicted in psychic damage.
- Signet of Confusion
Starting at 14th level, you can create a 10 foot by 10 foot signet of confusion on a surface. Any foe who comes into contact with the signet triggers its effect. The foe takes 2d6 points of psychic damage, and deals the same amount of extra damage with attacks and spells. The target also suffers a 50% chance to hit itself with attacks and spells. This effect lasts for 1d4 rounds. You may only have one active signet at a time, but a triggered signet doesn't count towards this total. You may use this ability up to your charisma modifier times per long rest.-->
