College of Acapella[edit]

Bard Subclass

Bards that follow the college of the vocalist realize that the voice is the most powerful part of all music. They realize the versatility of the voice and strive to perfect theirs. Some college of the vocalist bards go so far as to ignore instruments entirely, shaming others who use an instrument as a crutch. It is said the bard who founded the college of the vocalist adored songbirds, and wished their music to be like that if a bird.

Acapella Music

At 3rd level, your voice has evolved beyond that of other bards and you can use it in place of an instrument. Your voice now counts as a bardic spellcasting focus.

Mellifluous Voice

At 3rd level the music of your voice now bleeds into normal conversation. You gain proficiency in the Persuasion skill. If you already had proficiency in it, double your proficiency bonus.

In addition, when you fail a Charisma (Persuasion) check, you can spend an Inspiration die and add the number rolled to the result, potentially causing you to succeed instead.

Versatile Voice

At 6th level your voice has become so versatile it can sometimes replace parts of casting a spell. Whenever you cast a bard spell, you can cast it without any somatic components. You can use this feature a number of times equal to you Charisma modifier (minimum once). You regain all uses of this feature upon finishing a short or long rest.

Arcane Voice

At 14th level your mastery of your voice is so supreme you can now copy others. If a spell with verbal components is cast within 120 feet of you and you can reasonably hear it (up to your DMs discretion) you can hold it in your mind and cast it on your next turn, even if you do not know the spell. To cast this spell you must expend a spell slot of the appropriate level. You cannot cast this spell with a higher level spell slot than it was originally cast with. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum once). You regain all uses of this feature when you finish a long rest.
