Collapsible Bow (3.5e Equipment)
From D&D Wiki
Collapsible is a template that can be applied to any bow as it is crafted. It increases the weapon's cost by 600 gp.
Utilizing mechanical genius, making any bow collapsible has its advantages. A collapsible bow has the merit of allowing a user to carry a larger than normal bow at no detriment. A bow that is collapsible can be readied as though the user has the quick draw feat. However, on a critical fail, the mechanical components break causing the bow to not lock in place becoming unusable. A Disable Device/Repair check of a DC20 can repair the bow as a move action as all that may need to be fixed is a locking mechanism or spring. If a double bow would be made collapsible, an additional fee of 200 GP may be thrown on. A Collapsible bow is treated as masterwork.
