Clover Kingdom[edit]

Hailing from the storied Clover Kingdom—a land nestled among rival nations like the Diamond, Heart, and Spade Kingdoms—you come from a country defined as much by its magical heritage as its rigid social hierarchy. The kingdom is stratified into three concentric regions: the humble and often-overlooked Forsaken Realm on the fringes, the industrious and bustling Common Realm, and the opulent, magic-rich Noble Realm at its heart.

Whether you scraped by in the harsh outskirts, rose from the striving middle class, or were nurtured in the lap of noble privilege, your birthplace has shaped your sense of self, your ambitions, and how others see you. In the Clover Kingdom, where one's worth is often measured in magic and bloodline, you may carry pride, shame, or rebellion within your soul.

What did you leave behind when you set out beyond its borders? A dream to prove yourself, a hunger for power, or the simple hope of forging your own identity?

Background Features[edit]

When choosing the Clover Kingdom background, you must choose one of the following background features.

Forsaken Realm[edit]

You’ve lived your entire life up until this point on the poorest part of the clover kingdom, the Forsaken Realm. Living like this didn’t slow you down however, if anything, it only gave you determination to stride foward even in adversity.

Whenever you are reduced to 0 hit points but not killed outright, you can choose to roll 1 hit die and fall to the amount rolled in hit points instead. You can do this once per long rest.

Skill Proficiencies: Choose one of the following skills: Athletics, Animal Handling, Investigation, Nature, Survival.

Tool Proficiencies: Choose one of the following Artisan tools: Carpenter’s Tools, Cook’s Utensils, Herbalism Kit, Navigator’s Tools, Tinker’s Tools, Weaver’s Tools, Woodcarver’s Tools.

Equipment: You start with one artisan tool you’re proficient in, Commoner’s Clothes, and 5 GP.

Commoner Realm[edit]

You’ve lived your entire life up until this point on the busy Commoner’s Realm. Even if this place is not made for the higher class, many nobles and merchants pass through it searching for things of all kinds. This has given you an understanding of how to score a deal, perhaps even how to say the right thing at the right time.

When you roll a Charisma (Persuasion) check against a humanoid, you may give yourself advantage on the check. You can do this once, regaining its use at the end of a long rest.

Skill Proficiencies: Choose any skill of your choice.

Tool Proficiencies: Choose one Artisan Tool of your choice.

Equipment: You start with one artisan tool you’re proficient in, Commoner’s Clothes, and 10 GP.

Noble Realm[edit]

You have lived your entire life inside fancy houses, royal castles, and other luxuries most could only dream of. Being born privileged made you be respected by those below you, with your mere presence already bringing a commotion.

You have advantage on Charisma checks against humanoids with a Magical Power below your own that aren’t nobles.
