Game Rule Components[edit]

Lose: Martial Weapon Proficiency (all), Heavy Armor Proficiency, Medium Armor Proficiency. A brawler relies on the ability to move around to gain an advantage over a more encumbered fighter.

Gain: Brawl at first level. Brawl functions as Improved Unarmed Strike, except that it deals 1d6 instead of 1d3 points of lethal or nonlethal damage. Brawl make be taken as a taken as a feat when a fighter's base attack bonus reaches +4, +8, +12, +16, and +20. The first increase raises unarmed damage to 1d8, the second to 1d10, the third to 2d6, the fourth to 2d8, and the last to 2d10.

Add the following skills to the fighter class list: Bluff, Gather Information, Knowledge (local), and Sleight of Hand. The brawler also gains 4 + Intelligence modifier skill points at every level (4 + Int mod x 4 at first level).

This fighter variant may also take a feat like some monks can. If a fighter took the feat, Stunning Fist, the fighter could use the feat multiple times per day. However, when doing so, he is considered half his normal level.
