Special: If you ever stop qualifying for this feat, you can trade it for another archetype feat that you meet the prerequisites of.

Archetype Feat Bonus are based on HD.

  • 1 HD: A black knight always starts the game with black masterwork full-plate armor. The black armor can only be worn by the black knight and enhancing it only costs half as much. The black knight cannot remove this armor nor can it be destroyed, but he takes no penalty for sleeping, swimming and climbing with it on.
  • 3 HD: A black knight gains a special mount as a paladin of his level.
  • 8 HD: A black knight's armor gains strength as the wearer grows. The armor gains additional armor bonus equal to 1/3 of the wearer's HD (rounded down).
  • 15 HD: A black knight gains an innate resistance to magical attacks, he gains a spell resistance equal to his HD + 11.
