A barbed stiletto is a knife with a long narrow blade containing micro barbs along the surface, designed mainly for stabbing and rending (of flesh).
When the blade is being made, two properties, "laminated", and "serrated" may be added for additional costs.
Laminated: A laminated weapon gains +1 to all its damage rolls and its critical hit multiplier goes up by one as well. For example, a medium laminated steel barbed stiletto deals 1d6+1 damage and has a X4 critical hit multiplier. Furthermore, the weapon gains +5 to its normal hardness. This can only be applied to metal weaponry.
Serrated: A serrated weapon has its critical hit threat range increased by +1. A serrated barbed stiletto has a critical threat range of 16-20, instead of 17-20.
The "laminated" property costs an additional 900gp and the "serrated" property costs 300gp. Total costs of the weapon are multiplied by the number of properties it has; i.e. masterwork (x1), masterwork serrated (x2), laminated masterwork serrated (x3). The barbed stiletto must be masterwork when making these properties.
You get a +2 bonus on Sleight of Hand checks made to conceal a barbed stiletto on your body but a base DEX check of DC 10 must be made upon concealing and drawing the blade, or the character takes base weapon damage. This does not occur if the blade is in a sheath/holster and not concealed.
