Preload Confusion[edit]

This is the default preload from the non-magical mounts and vehicles page. I have a few observations:

  • The "5e Mounts and Vehicles Preload" is only linked to by three pages that I could find, one of which is a request to use that preload. Is it obsolete/should be deleted?
  • The "5e Mounts and Vehicles" template is used on only one page and could seemingly be retrofitted with the additional information, otherwise it seems a waste to have it around.

I do not believe the mounts and vehicles preload and template should be deleted for reasons I will explain. The main reason being that currently, the {{5e Equipment}} template, which this preload uses, isn't really suited to listing all the concise info you need for mounts and vehicles (ability scores, damage immunities, crew needed, AC/hit points, damage threshold, carrying capacity, etc.). As it currently stands, neither this preload or the mounts and vehicle preload include all the info one needs when making a mount or vehicle. Due to this, mundane mounts and vehicles are a bit of a mess and could use some standardization. {{Vehicle}} is sometimes used as the current preloads and templates do not include all the necessary sections for mounts and vehicles, but even then, that template doesn't include all the necessary sections needed. As such, although the 5e Mounts and Vehicles preload isn't used anymore, as mentioned on the mounts and vehicles talk page, a modified {{5e Creature}} template would likely be more helpful in displaying all of a mounts' or vehicles' info. Because of this, it would make sense to use the defunct {{5e Mounts and Vehicles}} template to house the modified {{5e Creature}} template. --Blobby383b (talk) 16:31, 11 February 2022 (MST)
