[edit] Totem Shaman

Similar to an Adept, a Totem Shaman is usually from a more primitive or isolated community where the conventional learning of magic is unavailable. Shaman channel their powers through hand crafted totem poles.

[edit] Making a Totem Shaman

Totem Shamans will place down their selected totem and then defend it while staying inside its effective radius to benefit from its powers.

Abilities: Dexterity and Strength are the most useful for the Shaman, to compensate for their nonproficiency in fighting.

Races: Elves and Half-Orcs are more predominantly because of their isolation from other communities, along with other minor races, like Goblins and Gnolls. It is less common with Humans, Gnomes, and Halflings.

[edit] Class Features

<-fluff about class features->. All of the following are class features of the <-class name->.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Totem Shaman's are proficient with all common weapons, bucklers, and light shields.

Totems: The most important feature of the Totem Shaman is their Totems. Totems are hand made, usually hollowed out using a burning stick and carved to the Shaman's preference. The wood used is a 3-6 foot long log, 3-6 inches in diameter. To make a totems, you must have a Craft Magic Arms and Armor, though, Shaman's do not need the feat to make their own totems. It takes a minimum of three days to create a totem, two to shape it, one to imbue it with it's magical properties.
