Review[edit]

So what is the "good deal of uncertainty" exactly? I'd be glad to help but I need to know what the issues are. JazzMan 14:01, 6 February 2012 (MST)

I am mostly uncertain about the numbers. I am not certain how they relate to this vehicle within D20 Modern's rules. I used a D20M SRD vehicle as the base for this page. I took that vehicle's performace, compared it to this SSN's performance, and then related it to D20 Modern that way. I don't know, however, if this is successful. --Green Dragon 08:34, 7 February 2012 (MST)
What did you base it off of? Off the cuff the hp seem low, though with a hardness of 55, I'm not sure there's a weapon in the game that can damage it, either, so maybe it's on track. (The hardness might be off, but then again, it can withstand tremendous pressures, so maybe not). When you are talking submarines it's less about "balance" and more about "realism", so as long as you are close enough it should be fine. JazzMan 14:47, 14 February 2012 (MST)
I based it off information from sites like [1] or [2]. I made the hardness so large because of underwater pressure. However, if one was to beach this submarine, a tank (I think) could destroy it. Should the hardness be lessened? --Green Dragon 09:52, 15 February 2012 (MST)
I've been thinking about this for a while now, and finally came up with the answer when I was watching a documentary about the cruise ship Concordia. The submarine's ability to withstand tremendous pressures is in it's shape, not it's penetrative resistance. This is how a rock with hardness 8-ish can cut a gash in the hull. I'd say probably hardness 10 with hit points around 150. (I have no idea where they come up with the seemingly random vehicle hit point totals). The hardest-hitting weapon in the game is the M1A2 tank cannon, which deals 10d12 damage (average 65, max 120). I don't really know the difference in power between a cannon and a torpedo, but I'm guessing the torpedo does more. JazzMan 15:52, 20 February 2012 (MST)
Look good? --Green Dragon (talk) 19:11, 1 August 2012 (MDT)
Seems good enough. JazzMan 15:18, 3 August 2012 (MDT)
