Shield Evasion [General, Fighter]

You gain a limited evasion ability when using a large shield.

Prerequisite

Shield Proficiency, Lightning Reflexes, Base reflex saving throw +4

Benefit

You must be using a heavy shield or tower shield to use this feat. If exposed to any effect that normally allows a Reflex saving throw for half damage, you take no damage with a successful saving throw. If you roll a natural 1 on your saving throw, both you and your shield take the full impact of the blast. On any other roll, the shield escapes unharmed.

Notes

Like all objects, shields take half damage from electricity and fire and only one-quarter damage from cold.
