Improved Dragon Breath (4e Feat)

Scales.png This page is of questionable balance. Reason: Involves a lot of effects that are not suitable for an encounter power. Switching to daily might fix that. Like the draconic heritage power, quickly becomes a poor choice due to lack of enhancement bonuses.

Benefit: You gain the Improved Dragon Breath power. It replaces your dragon breath power.
Improved Dragon Breath Feat Power
You call on your dragon ancestors to unleash a torrent of energy.
Encounter Star.gif Acid, Cold, Fire, Lightning, Poison, Thunder
Standard Action Close Blast 5
Target: Creatures in blast
Attack: Strength, Constitution or Dexterity Vs. Reflex
Hit: 3d4 acid, cold, fire, lightning, poison or thunder damage.
Special: Your attack has a special effect determined by which type of dragon you chose when you took Draconic Heritage:
  • Adamantine Dragon: The target is knocked prone. Miss: Half damage. Effect: At the start of your next turn, you give a thunderous roar: close burst 3; no attack roll; 10 thunder damage.
  • Black Dragon: The target takes ongoing 5 acid damage and takes a -4 penalty to AC (save ends both).
  • Blue Dragon:' You deal 5 lightning damage to one creature within 5 squares of each target. Miss: Half damage and the attack does not deal 5 lightning damage to a creature within 5 squares of the target.
  • Brown Dragon: The blast creates an area of swirling sand that remains in place until the end of your next turn. Any creature that starts its turn adjacent to the area or that moves through the area takes 5 damage. The area blocks line of sight for all creatures except you.
  • Copper Dragon: The target is weakened (save ends). Miss: Half damage.
  • Gold Dragon: The target is weakened (save ends). Miss: Half damage.
  • Gray Dragon: The target is pushed 3 squares and takes ongoing 5 acid damage. Miss: Half damage.
  • Green Dragon: The target takes ongoing 5 poison damage and is slowed (save ends both). Miss: Half damage.
  • Iron Dragon: You pull the target 3 squares. The target also takes ongoing 5 damage (save ends). Miss: Half damage.
  • Purple Dragon: The target takes ongoing 5 psychic damage and is dazed (save ends both). Miss: Half damage, and the target is not dazed and does not take ongoing damage.
  • Red Dragon: Your breath weapon deals 4d4 damage instead of 3d4 and the target takes ongoing 5 fire damage (save ends). Miss: Half damage.
  • Silver Dragon: The target gains vulnerable 5 to all damage (save ends). Miss: Half damage.
  • White Dragon: The target is weakened (save ends). Miss: Half damage.
