Warfare Combat[edit]

This Rule is made to overhaul the way D&D deal with the aspect of warfare from the small gangs and guerrillas fights to the great battlefields and wars.

Troops Handling[edit]

Troops Handling will be divided into two types:

Troops Types[edit]

Troops are divided into these categories:

  • Warriors: They are the basic fighters, berserkers and guards. They are the bases and front line of every army.
  • Rangers: They are basically made of archers, crossbowman and scouts. They are the long arm of every army to attack from a far.
  • Cavalry: They are the horseman, knights and exotic raiders. They are the fast raiders of the army.
  • Holy Healers: They are the holy clerics, priests and paladins. They are the one's responsible for healing, helping and rallying the army troops.
  • Magicians: They are the wizards, warlocks and sorcerers. They maintain the magical uses of the army what ever they are.
  • Supporters: They are the bards, combat engineers, blacksmiths and doctors. They help the army in supplies, keep them entertained and use the siege weapons.

Organization of Military[edit]

The two easiest ways to treat generic soldiers in warfare are to either give each NPC it's individual stats and hit points and play combat regularly or to have each group or army of soldiers represent one fighting unit, with each hit point representing one person.

When using the second option with a grid map or similar, it's best to have a single unit of space worth much more than 5 feet. To decide the unit of measurement used in the battle, you can multiply the total HP of the largest fighting unit by 5. That is how much space a unit can have and still have room to fight. This only really works with medium sized units though, for larger units, divide the HP of the smallest fighting unit by 4 rounded down. This is how many large creatures can fit in the same space as a medium sized space.
