The Sunken Sky[edit]

Warlock Subclass

You have made a pact with an extraplanar entity formed of and fueled by the fears of mortals; your patron is associated with the fear of being crushed, suffocated, drowned, or trapped. This entity is usually unable or unwilling to influence the material plane beyond granting supernatural abilities to those it believes will provide even more fear that it may feed on. If it has chosen you, it either believes you will make the fear of being buried widespread, or that you yourself will develop into a source of this fear.

Expanded Spell List[edit]

The Sunken Sky lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.

Spell Level Spells
1st earth tremor, entangle
2nd dust devil, rime's binding ice
3rd meld into stone, erupting earth
4th watery sphere, control water
5th maelstrom, wall of stone

Too Close Cannot Breathe[edit]

Starting at 1st level, it becomes easier to survive while buried, or at least harder to die. You and and a number of creatures up to your Charisma modifier that you can see are no longer at risk of suffocating. If another creature you've targeted with this feature spends a number of minutes equal to twice its Constitution modifier (minimum of 1 minute) without breathing, it gains a level of exhaustion at the start of each of its turns until it is able to breath again. This cannot increase a creature's exhaustion level past 4, or past 2 once you reach 10th level.

Submerge[edit]

Starting at 6th level, you may use an bonus action to cause a creature you can see within 60 feet to be dragged beneath the waves for 1 minute. The target treats all water as difficult terrain; if in water deep enough to swim or become submerged, the target has the air forced from its lungs and begins suffocating immediately at the end of its next turn. You can affect a number of creatures equal to you Charisma modifier (minimum 1) at a time with this feature, and cannot target a creature again until you complete a long rest.

Entomb[edit]

Starting at 10th level, you learn the spell move earth and can cast it without expending a spell slot; this spell counts as a warlock spell for you, but doesn’t count against your number of spells known. The changes you cause with this spell take only 1 round to occur, potentially trapping or damaging creatures in the area, and the duration is limited to 10 minutes. The ground in the area affected by this spell is considered difficult terrain.

DIG[edit]

Starting at 14th level, you learn how to share your fear and obsession. As an action, you can command a single creature within 30 feet of you to dig. The target must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC, or it becomes convinced that there is something underground which it must reach. It begins digging straight down, using its bare hands if it doesn't have appropriate tools, and continues to do so until rendered unconscious, buried by sediment, or you dismiss the effect (no action required). You must complete a long rest to use this feature again.

Pact Boons[edit]

Each Pact Boon option produces a special creature or an object that reflects your patron's nature.

Pact of the Chain. The default form of your familiar might be a subterranean animal, like a rat or weasel.

Pact of the Blade. Your patron could cause you weapon to appear caked in dirt, and crushed as though subject to immense pressure.

Pact of the Tome. This book could create thick clouds of dust whenever you turn the pages.
