Talk:FMA Alchemy (3.5e Variant Rule)

there needs to be something mentioned about the state alchemist.

"This has been discussed elsewhere, but there need to be counter saves, etc. E.g. why not transmute the air in someone's lungs into water? Also, the balance of the gate feats do not work (not using D&D rules- an "ordeal" may relate to prerequisites, but not change the game's balance)." For the first part of the argument, you can't transmute over a long distance without changing everything in the way first, and can't chance the basic attributes of what you're transmuting. For example, you could change all the air in a room to poison gas, but not just change the air in someone's lungs. You also couldn't change the air in the room to a liquid, unless you froze it first into liquid form. Thus, poison gas in the room would a fortitude save.

Taking Over[edit]

Since this project is long since abandoned and unbalanced, and I quite like the system at a surface level ill take the liberty of giving it a fresh coat of paint, and make things a bit more balanced (hopefully), starting with the feats, which are all wonky and about to be deleted. Redid all of the feats because they were about to be deleted and added a new category for them, since there are quite a lot. plan to add more, but you can see what the current ones are here Xjax1 (talk) 00:53, 20 August 2021 (MDT)
