Talk:Combat Caster (5e Feat)

I get making a feat for the 2 things listed so you don't have to take both Crossbow Expert and Warcaster for the 2 bullets that have been kinda recreated. But as is this has no depth or focus, its just 2 nifty bullets with little else contributing. IMO this would be a waste of a feat if a player were to ask for it. What else would you expect someone who has the Feat Combat Caster as a subtitle? Not sure if this helps, but here's a fighting style that I use for Gish style players.

Sword and Sorcery You do not suffer disadvantage with ranged spell attack rolls for casting within 5 feet of a hostile creature and when you are wielding a weapon in one hand and no other weapons, you gain a +1 bonus to melee attack rolls.

It's has nice consistent results and doesn't require the expense of ASI's. You can probably get the style with one of the feats that grab fighting styles and then get Warcaster to get the Adv with concentration that this feat seems to be after.--Gr7mm Bobb (talk) 12:00, 22 February 2017 (MST)
