Talk:Additional Conditions (5e Variant Rule)

I take issue with someone saying that this page was made less "competently" than the Additional Status Conditions (5e Variant Rule) page. That page is full of overly complicated rules, like stacking bonuses and percentages, which I don't feel fit with the 5e design philosophy. I don't like the idea of my contributions, which are fairly simple and easy to understand being lumped in with those rules. I would also have to come up with new names for many of the status effects I invented and adapted, because many of the names are already used on the Additional Status page. --The Wizened Throne (talk) 21:22, 19 March 2022 (MDT)

My personal ideal would be to list every condition as its own individual variant rule. So I don't find merging them to be a good idea in any case.
But I agree, I don't find that list of conditions to be "better" than this one. This one certainly has the better title at least. - Guy 03:00, 24 March 2022 (MDT)
It's more like that it's coming to be a bit much. I think there are three pages of this concept at this point. This one, this, and this, too. The ones here are certainly simpler, but I personally think it is easier to pare down from complex rules into simple ones (cut off what parts you don't want), than to add onto only barebone baseline (like cause, cure, etc.).--Yanied (talk) 22:50, 3 May 2024 (MDT)
