Tiefling Subrace[edit]

The River Styx is the path for the flow of souls across all of the lower planes, and its channels can be found coursing throughout the realms of sin. Those who drink the waters of the Styx forget all memories, and those tieflings tied to the power of the River of Blood carry the power to inflict some of that forgetfulness upon others.

Ability Score Increase. Your Wisdom score increases by 1.
Forgetful Waters. As a bonus action, you can force a creature within 30 feet to make a Wisdom saving throw (DC = 8 + your Constitution modifier + your proficiency bonus). On a failed save they take 1d8 psychic damage. On a successful save they take half as much damage. If the creature fails the save by 5 or more they forget all of the events since the start of your last turn. The damage from this trait increases by 1d8 at 5th Level (2d8), 11th Level (3d8), and 17th Level (4d8.) You can use this trait a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Legacy of the River of Blood. You gain resistance to psychic damage, and you know the thaumaturgy cantrip. Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma is your spellcasting ability for thaumaturgy when you cast it with this trait.
