Candidates Prelude
Questions for the candidate

Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve D&D Wiki in this capacity. Please take the time to answer a few generic questions to provide guidance for voters:

1. What sysop chores do you anticipate helping with? Please read the page about administrators and the administrators' reading list on Wikipedia before answering.
A: I would continue with my efforts to maintain correct spelling, error free grammar and sentence structures, revisions to clarify ideas (without altering content), the never-ending linkification battle, and offering helpful constructive criticism wherever possible. The main thing Adminship would offer me is the opportunity to work with locked documents. I also want world peace or whirled peas, whichever.
2. Of your articles or contributions to D&D Wiki, are there any with which you are particularly pleased, and why?
A: I have to admit that I love all my creations, but if I had to choose... I would have to pick the Prestidigitator PrC. I love the minor tweaking and addition of flavor to the arcane spellcasting classes.
3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
A: well, the Prestidigitator PrC was hotly debated over its power level and balance, but I believe through the discussion and debate the PrC was both strengthened and balanced. Stress from this is non-existent as this is just one heck of a lot of fun for me. I believe that I dealt with the input from other users in an adult manner and will continue to do so in the future.
4. Optional question from Green Dragon: When you first arrived at D&D Wiki you made many edits, however one of these edits I had a problem with. I am just wondering if you could please explain your first edit on Blackbark Wine (3.5e Equipment). (Through History:here). Thanks.
A: At that time I was mainly doing spelling checks and trying to learn the wiki format (Xenophon has been a great help to me in that regard). I'm not sure which portion of my edit was contentious, but I hope that it has been successfully ironed out for the betterment of the article.
Green Dragons Response: The part of the edit that I am wondering about is the Fortitude changed to forTitude. Could you explain why this will never happen again please? --Green Dragon 06:57, 7 December 2006 (MST)
A: A simple case of caps lock being on when I was working and transferred it over during a quick change while on a break. This type of error is one that I strive to ensure never happens and is quickly corrected in any post, especially mine.--Calidore Chase 07:05, 7 December 2006 (MST)

Support

  • Support - Calidore Chase has added a whole new slew of items on D&D Wiki, fixed many spelling problems, and I am sure this is just going to continue. Calidore Chase does not have many edits (a lot less than 1000), but I am sure that he is competent for Adminship. --Green Dragon 07:11, 7 December 2006 (MST)
  • Support - When I patrol edits, I ignore everything that he touches. I know he's taking care of those entries. I've only seen him contribute. He's gold in my book. --Dmilewski 09:42, 7 December 2006 (MST)
  • Support - (Virtually) all of his posts have been useful in some way, and he strives to make the page professional and useful. What more can we ask for in an admin? --EldritchNumen 23:35, 10 December 2006 (MST)

Oppose

  • Oppose - I think an Admin on any Wiki should have more than 1000 edits before becoming admin. Less than 1000 edits is not enough to completely grasp the formatting to a wiki. This is not a personal attack against you, and I am sorry if you take it that way. --Shadow Dragon 23:39, 10 December 2006 (MST)
You would have to roll very well to hit me in this personal attack, my AC is very high. But seriously, if you feel that there are certain standards to be met before adminship can be conferred then by all means air these concerns. --Calidore Chase 01:17, 11 December 2006 (MST)

Neutral

  • Neutral I am voting neutral to avoid a conflict of interest. Calidore is truly dedicated to this project. He has said to me that he feels what he is doing here makes an actual difference, unlike some other endeavors. That was total paraphrasing but I hope you all get the general idea. He is very committed to the ideals of wiki's in general and specifically D&D Wiki. --Xenophon 02:24, 7 December 2006 (MST)
