Path of Self[edit]

The Jikogan, a unique Dōjutsu, finds its genesis in the profound depths of self-awareness and personal introspection. Unlike other ocular abilities that may be fueled by sheer power or external influences, the Jikogan blossoms through a deep connection to one's innermost emotions and understanding of the self, empowering its wielder to draw out untapped reservoirs of inner strength and capabilities dormant in every being, but only fully achieved by few.

Design Note: Jutsu from this path can only be cast while your Jikogan is active.

Self-Awareness[edit]

At 3rd level, you unlock the dormant power of the Jikogan, allowing you to activate it as a bonus action which gives you advantage on Wisdom and Charisma saving throws, additionally, you gain insight into your own vulnerabilities, allowing you to gain resistance to one damage type as a bonus action until the end of your next turn for 1 chakra point, you may extend the duration of the resistance to the chosen damage type to the end of your next turn by spending another chakra point at the end of your turn.

When you take the search action while your Jikogan is active, you may also attempt a DC 13 Insight check to locate living creatures and magical effects within 60 feet. You see a faint outline around the detected chakra source and what school of magic or chakra nature the magical effect was created from, or one that the creature can use if any, can be discerned by you. This effect can penetrate most barriers, but is blocked by 1 foot of stone, 1 inch of common metal, a thin sheet of lead, or 3 feet of wood or dirt.

At the end of each turn you have your Jikogan active, you must spend 1 chakra, or 2 if it was implanted.

At 10th level, you can activate and deactivate your Jikogan as a free action instead of a bonus action.

At 15th level, you have almost fully mastered your true self. You must spend half as much chakra to keep your Jikogan active (rounded down).

Outer Resonance - Yang Mastery[edit]

At 7th level, your profound understanding of your true potential and the energies within you extends to the physical world. Whenever you learn a jutsu, you can instead learn a Yang Style jutsu. As a bonus action for 4 chakra when you cast a Yang Style jutsu while your Jikogan is active, you may double its duration, range or healing, losing your next turn's bonus action if the jutsu was done as a reaction.

Alternate Feature: Inner Resonance - Yin Mastery[edit]

At 7th level, your connection to your emotions and understanding of your inner self empowers your spirit allowing its will to manifest into the world. Whenever you learn a jutsu, you can instead learn a Yin Style jutsu. Jutsu learned in this way count as half as much for your jutsu limit.

Self-Realization[edit]

At 10th level, your mastery over the Jikogan heightens allowing you to slightly reach the depths of your true potential, letting you amplify the essence of your inner self. As a reaction to making a saving throw or bonus action before making a skill check, you may grant yourself advantage on the roll, you may do this a number of times equal to 1 + your Wisdom modifier regaining all uses at the end of a short or long rest.

Additionally, when you make a saving throw or skill check that you have no proficiency in, you may spend 5 chakra to add half your proficiency bonus to the roll.

Ego Projection[edit]

At 10th level, the understanding you have of what really lies within allows you to expel most attempts to affect it. You may use your action or a bonus action and 1 chakra to end one effect that is causing you to be charmed or frightened.

Self-Actualization[edit]

At 15th level, you reach the true depths of your being and find that the dormant power in each being is greater than what is believed, and you are able to unleash it with your Jikogan, gaining resistance to a damage type with Self-Awareness no longer costs chakra, and you may make the resistance immunity by spending chakra as normal, in addition you gain the following:

True Self Unleashed

Cost: 20 chakra

Duration: Concentration, up to 1 minute

As an action, you unleash the true potential the entirety of your being is capable of. Your proficiency bonus increases by 2, you gain advantage on any skill checks or saving throws you have proficiency on, you may add Self-Realization's bonus on any d20 roll to which you add your proficiency bonus for half the cost, and using Self-Realization or Self-Awareness normally no longer costs chakra.

Complete Resonance[edit]

At 20th level, your mastery over the Jikogan reaches its pinnacle, and you gain mastery over yourself to the point you can do what few ever can, split into your yin and yang halves at will. You gain the 10th level feature you did not take, you may add half your proficiency bonus to any check on which you lack proficiency, you gain the Fission Technique if you didn't have it already and when you create only one clone using it, you may spend 5 additional chakra to make it either a Yang or Yin clone, while you are counted as the opposite, the clone cannot use the chakra nature you are associated with, and you cannot use the chakra nature it is associated with, but both of you have advantage on and your targets have disadvantage against saving throws and attack rolls from the nature you are associated with, while your targets have advantage on and you have disadvantage against saving throws and attack rolls from the nature you are not associated with, any clones created by either halves are under the effect that the halve that created them is on in relation to complete resonance.
