Ovisii[edit]

Physical Description[edit]

In the simplest terms, ovisii are humanoids that resemble domestic sheep. The ovisii's bodies are covered almost completely in wool, which feels identical to a regular sheep's wool and can come in various shades of white, brown and black whilst their heads have more regular looking but fluffy hair that's usually a darker or brighter shade of color then their wool. They have curled horns adorning their heads that grow as they grow older and must be regularly trimmed so they don't get too big. The horns of a male ovisii are typically bigger then the females, but both are just as effective at hitting. They have rectangular pupils and their eyes come in various shades of yellow, greens and orange, with some exceptionally rare ones having blue ones. Their faces also have a human-like look to them with the exception of a short button nosed, sheep snout.

Strange Beginnings[edit]

The ovisii began life on a small farm, owned by a lone shepherd. Back then, they were nothing more than normal sheep, completely unaware of anything but their everyday routines. The story goes that at some point in the shepherd's life when they were younger, they ran into a fey and apparently offended it somehow. So years later the fey enacted a plan to make the shepherd's life chaos, which started with giving his flock of sheep sentience and trying to get them to rebel against their former master. This plan however backfired as the now awakened sheep warned their shepherd of the coming danger, allowing him to enlist the aid of adventurers to deal with it, but consequently forgot about curing the sheep of their newfound sentience. Despite that, the shepherd did not seem to mind at all and allowed the flock to continue living on the farm if they wanted to, an offer these sheep graciously accepted. Then as time went on, they started speaking his language more properly, becoming more and more humanoid looking and acting with each generation and soon started helping around on the farm, learning more about the tools, the crops grown and the other animals on the farm, developing an entire community and culture devoted to this farmstead, once and truly becoming ovisii. Even now, centuries after the shepherd died peacefully in his sleep and later his last descendant fell as well, the ovisii still honor their shepherd as they live out their simple farmer lives.

Simple Folks with Simple Lives[edit]

The ovisii are a simple, hard-working and communal people, with a culture that encourages hard work and care in all matters of life. A single ovisii family can often grow large enough to fulfill every role needed on a farm within a generation or two, with the children raised together by the community build around their homes. With so many ovisii and their sheep wool to go between them, they often make a lot of warm clothing, bedsheets and various other things that they trade with merchants, travelers and adventurers. Through these trades, ovisii are often told stories of wonder and adventure, giving many young ovisii a sense of wanderlust and desire to see the rest of the world beyond their meeker little farmsteads.

Ovisii Names[edit]

Ovisii naming conventions are typically rather simple but very traditional. Their first names tend to have at most two syllables that traditionally end with an 'i' and their family names usually are alterations of words from the Common tongue, noticeably ones that relate to farming. Male ovisii have an 'oh' suffix before their family names whilst female members have 'ah' before theirs. For example, a male name is built like: Bori oh'Mahson, whilst a female's is built as: Ami ah'Mahson.

Female: Ami, Nomi, Sari, Demi, Molli, Kori
