Longsword of Elements (5e Equipment)

Weapon (Longsword), Legendary (Major) (Requires Attunement)

This weapon is a +3 longsword and has a contrapment on the hilt to activate the effects and is said to be forged in all of the elemental planes to help a conquer the lands of the elements but I did not work and the longsword was lost in the battle that followed.

Changing Elements This longsword has 1d6 miniature contraptions in a container next to it that have their respective colors,(Ex:fire,red) and as a bonus action you can switch and add that new element, only one contraption could be held on the longsword and that element that is activated has special property's also all properties can only be used twice per long rest.

Fire Element

Once activated the longsword rages into a burst of everlasting flames for as long as the compartment is activated and when hitting a successful attack roll the target takes an extra 2d8 fire damage,providing bright light for 10 feet and dim for an extra 10 feet also getting the following properties.

Flaming Attacks As an action you can strike at a target propelling out three strikes, those three can be redirected towards a different target or at just one, if the target is hit they take 3d8 fire damage and start to burn, each round the target is burning they take a guaranteed 1d6 fire damage. The target can choose to use their action to put out the flames (DC 13 dexterity) or till their teammate does. (same DC)

Cold Element

Once activated the longsword starts to freeze up, growing shards of ice and snowflakes on it as long as the compartment is activated and when hitting a successful attack roll the target takes an extra 2d8 cold damage and also gaining the following properties.

Icy Protection As an action you can transfer the magical coldness to your skin for one hour or as a bonus action to dismiss it early, the longsword no longer gets the benefits it gets from the cold Element, only dealing base damage but hardening your body, your AC is now a 19 and are under the effects of Armor of Agathys at 6th level. If you want to get some of the element of the cold you can transfer some or all of the energy back into the longsword, each 1 point down of AC increases the damage dice to 1d6 cold damage and furthermore until you match your AC or until you drop 4 points down of AC.

Acid Element

Once activated the longsword the sword gets chemically burned and every now and then makes small pops additionally,you deal 2d8 acid damage on successful attack rolls and gaining the following effects.

Acidic StrikeAs an action you can strike one target in range, on a successful attack roll you deal an extra 1d8 acid damage and the target must beat a DC 18 condition saving throw or the AC is reduced to 2 for 3 turns, also rolling a 18 is a critical attack until the next 3 turns additionally, the effected target's AC is permanently reduced by 2.

Lighting Element

Once activated the longsword gets struck by magical lighting making the blade static and shock with powerful energy, also gaining 2d8 extra lighting damage on successful attack rolls, in addition, you gain the following property.

Paralyzing StrikeAs an action you can strike one target in range, on a successful attack roll, you deal a additional 1d8 lighting damage and the target must make a DC 18 constitution saving throw, on a fail, the target is paralyzed for 3 turns, on a success the target just takes additional damage.

Thunder Element

Once activated the longsword starts to vibrate controllably and gains additional 2d8 thunder damage on successful attack rolls,in addition,you gain the following properties.

Thundurus KnockAs an action you can strike one target within range,on a successful attack roll, you can deal an additional 1d8 thunder damage and the target must make a DC 18 constitution saving throw, or be knocked prone until the start of its next turn.

Force Element

Once activated the longsword bursts as if it exploded shattering into floating pieces (does not break the longsword only for cool effect) and gains an additional 2d8 force damage on successful attack rolls also gaining the following properties.

Pushing Force As an action, you can slam the longsword to the floor, every hostile creature must make a DC 18 dexterity saving throw or take 4d8 force damage and get pushed 10 ft away from the impact.
