There is a place...

A place of blunt objects...

A place of hidden value...

Hammerspace is a demi-plane that contains all sorts of large heavy objects and various things of comedic value. It is sort of a cosmic storage trunk and when necessary it can be accessed, on some material planes access to it is easier then others and people have found themselves in possession of large hammers just for being offended. The plane was created by Olidammara for his own personal amusement, but mages over the years have found access to it.

The plane itself is separated into 3 layers. The outer two layers are hollow spheres one within the other. Deep within the middle layer is a solid sphere. The outermost layer contains cream pies, juggling monkeys and other random items, this layer is called "The random shell" the middle layer contains lost items, socks, pennies, and ancient papers. This layer is called "Behind the couch". The deepest layer is constructed entirely out of large heavy blunt objects. This layer is called "Hammerspace proper."

Plane Traits[edit]

Physical Traits[edit]

  • Gravity: Info

Objective Gravity

All creatures are attracted to both sides of the hollow spheres and to the surface of the deep sphere depending on which they are closest to. In addition, The random shell has Light gravity. Hammerspace proper has heavy gravity.

Natural matter in the plane including sentient beings in the random shell are part of the "ground" of each shell, and not able to interact with planar travelers unless said traveler pulls the inhabitant from the ground.

  • Time: Info

Erratic Time

Hammerspace is outside linear spacetime, upon leaving the plane under most forms of planar travel, the travelers will find themselves at a random point in time anywhere from the beginning to the end of the lifespan of the plane they exit to.

If the travelers use Limited Wish, Wish, or Miracle to leave the plane, they will exit in a timeframe as if they had only spent 5 minutes in hammerspace, regardless how long they actually spent inside the plane.

  • Size: Info

Self-Contained Shape

On planes with this trait, the borders wrap in on themselves, depositing the traveler on the other side of the map.

All the layers of Hammerspace are spherical.

  • Morphic: Info

Highly Morphic

Objects in Hammerspace may randomly be called into existence from another plane or may suddenly vanish as it reappears in another plane. This action is impossible to predict.

Magic, Alignment, and Energy/Elemental Traits[edit]

  • Elemental Dominance: Info

none

  • Energy Dominance: Info

none

  • Alignment Trait: Info

The random shell is mildly chaos aligned (lawful creatures take -2 to charisma based skill checks)

Hammerspace proper is mildly lawful aligned (chaotic creatures take -2 to charisma based skill checks)

  • Magic Trait: Info

Wild Magic

Plane Links[edit]

This plane always borders the Plane of shadow and the Astral plane. Using either plane as a link, it can temporarily border any plane that the plane of shadow or the astral plane borders.

Plane Inhabitants[edit]

The only naturally occurring inhabitants are in the random shell and are part of it's makeup. If an outsider pulls the inhabitant from the ground, the inhabitant will be confused and after 1d6 rounds the being will use all available tactics to rejoin his space in the ground. During this rush to rejoin his place in the plane, the inhabitant gains a temporary burrow speed equal to his base land speed.

While in that space the inhabitants enjoy a false reality set to prepare them for a comedic task once they leave the plane. They are unaware of the plane and immediately forget about the plane if they are removed from the false reality.

Movement and Combat[edit]

People with burrow speeds can move through the upper-two layers at full burrow speed. People on the deepest layer can pull out any non-masterwork, non-magical bludgeoning weapon of their choice as a move action, or a random bludgeoning weapon (DM's choice) as a swift action.
