Golem Warcrafter[edit]

Whether it is of flesh, stone, or Iron, I know it inside and out.
—Technician,Warforged Golem Warcrafter

Golem Warcrafters are mostly individual artisans specialized in the creation of constructs. They can be found either building their own army of Golems or in the employ of a lord or nation doing the same work. Warcrafters often design their own Golems that are specialized for one or two actions and are mainly designed for combat.

Becoming a Golem Warcrafter[edit]

A Golem Warcrafter's often main goal is to create the "perfect" golem with no weaknesses or is theoretically unstoppable. Golem Warcrafter's are Mostly construct inclined Artificers and Wizards, His Spells and Crafting abilities are determined by his Intelligence. Often a Warcrafter will have to make use of his Use Magic Device skill so charisma is also an important ability. Constitution makes the Warcrafter almost as sturdy as his creations. A Golem Warcrafter will use his creations to fight his battles for him while he lobs away at a distance so dexterity is useful for ranged attacks.

Class Features[edit]

All of the following are class features of the Golem Warcrafter.

Spellcasting: At each level, you gain new spells per day and an increase in caster level (and spells known, if applicable) as if you had also gained a level in a spellcasting class to which you belonged before adding the prestige class level. You do not, however, gain any other benefit a character of that class would have gained. If you had more than one spellcasting class before becoming a Golem Warcrafter, you must decide to which class to add each level for the purpose of determining spells per day, caster level, and spells known.

Spells: To cast a particular spell, you must have an Intelligence score of at least 10 + the spell's level. Your bonus spells are based on your Intellegence. Saves to avoid the effects of your spells have a DC of 10 + the spell's level + your Intelligence bonus (if any).

Golem Artisan: The Bonus provided by your Magical artisan feat is increased by 5% per Golem Warcrafter Level. (Ex 30% at 1st, 35% at 2nd, till 50% at 5th)

Magical Repair: At lvl 1, The Golem Warcrafter can now repair golems without mundane materials. The Warcrafter no longer has to pay 50gp per hit point when repairing constructs

Bypass Golem Ward: At lvl 3, By using the Golem Warcrafter's immense knowledge of Constructs you may now ignore a Construct's Magical Immunity. Any Spell you cast now works normally.

Improved Golem: At lvl 5, Golem Warcrafter Golems are often better than those constructed by other Wizards or Artificers. This is due to the customization of the golem by the Warcrafter. works as the Improved homunculus feat(Magic of Ebberon) except applies to all constructs created by the Warcrafter

Campaign Information[edit]

Playing a Golem Warcrafter[edit]

Combat: Golem Warcrafter's are often in the rear of battle. Using either wands or spells to hammer their opponents or to buff their creations while they fight in melee. Advancement: Golem Warcrafters are mostly former artificers or wizards, however other classes may become Warcrafters. Resources: Golem Warcrafters ofter work on their own, paranoid that their ideas may be stolen by other artisans.

Golem Warcrafter's in the World[edit]

Why won't these silly adventurers leave me in peace?!

You may find a golem warcrafter in his alchemical lab surrounded by materials intended for building a new golem. They are often hermits or are antisocial. Spending most of their day locked up in their tower or cave thinking of new ways to smash enemies into mushy paste. there are others who realize that they may not know everything about the world and go in search of new materials or ways to make golems more efficiently. May Golem Warcrafters search for the famed Golem forge. A forge specially designed by the ancient giants to mass produce Golem slaves.

NPC Reactions: Npc often notice the 15ft tall statue walking through their village but fail to realize that the real danger is the 5 ft tall robed figure sitting on it's shoulder. They often stay away and dont wish to anger the owner of said golem.

Golem Warcrafter Lore[edit]

Characters with ranks in Knowledge Arcana can research Golem Warcrafters to learn more about them. When a character makes a skill check, read or paraphrase the following, including information from lower DCs.

<-the appropriate skills->
DC Result
11 Golem Warcrafters are former artificers and wizards who specialize in the creation of golems.
16 Golem Warcrafters can often make the same golem for cheaper than their rivals and can maintain them much easier.
21 Golem Warcrafters can sometimes bypass the magical immunity of a golem and command them to attack their former masters.
26 One Genius Warcrafter once created the first Warforged and had it follow him around for the rest of it's days.

Golem Warcrafters in the Game[edit]

Golem warcrafter's fill many roles in the party. The golem that most likely will be built by the warcrafter is often fills the main melee combat tank role while the warcrafter stays behind and fires spells (if he was originally a wizard) or heals and buffs the golem (if he was originally an articifer) Adaptation: Golem warcrafters are often intrigued by magic and enjoy spellcasting characters. They do not often get along with non-spellcasting classes like rogues or fighters but realize their importance in the party and deal with them. Warcrafters are very thoughtful characters and want to help the party get things done. They do not partake in the "drama" of the party as it often does not lead the the completion of the party's objective.
