|—Willis Dragonblight, Human Draconic Champion|
The Draconic Champion aspires to become the most destructive instrument in battle. They show no fear, offer no quarter and expect none in return. Their dragon heritage is brought forth through several transformations. These molts are painful and they turn it towards their enemies as they lay waste before the masses. Once they have begun their transformation they thirst for the fight. They seek war, conquest and destruction of those who would oppose them.
Becoming a Draconic Champion
A true test of sacrifice, desire, will and devotion. Many have felt the lure to sure the great Dragon lords but few survive the process. Whether or not one was born to attempt the role or chosen by the Dragon Masters, there is always a risk of imminent danger. To serve Tiamat catches the eye of the servants of Bahamet. Those attempting to serve Bahamet bring retribution their way in many forms. Former fighters, rangers and barbarians have taken the trials and have died in the attempt. The few that are able to pass the rituals gain great power and influence within their sect, while gaining even greater distain from the other.

All of the following are class features of the Draconic Champion. Each transformation occurs over a period of 24 hours slowing transforming them into a Half-Dragon Variant over 8 levels. Draconic Champions may serve good, evil or to maintain balance of both. They cause fear upon the battlefield furthering the mayhem and destruction around them. Once their first molt has completed, Draconic Champions serve a Dragon Master, Tiamat or Bahamet. They cause fear upon the battlefield furthering the mayhem and destruction around them. Fallen Champions are hunted by both.
Dragon’s Hide (Ex): The new initiates’ skin hardens and scales begin to form. This process can take weeks before becoming bearable as the skin slowly transforms. The new Draconic Champion gains +1 to their natural Armor Class per 2 levels and a Damage Reduction of 2/- which improves to 5/- at 3rd, 8/- at 6th and 10/- at 8th.
Endure (Ex): A Draconic Champion weathers even the most horrible storms and treacherous climates to wage war. His body grows tough and numb, allowing them to endure even further. They are considered always under the effect of an endure elements spell.
Dragon’s Senses (Ex): The Draconic Champions features slowly begin to show minor changes. Their eye’s become a swirling mist of blue and their chosen dragon type color. They gain the ability of Dark Vision of 120’ and they can see in color with the ability to determine heat and cold spots. When suing normal or using lowlight vision they can see up to four times farther than a normal.
Mettle (Ex): At 2nd level, a Draconic Champion can resist magical or unusual attacks with great willpower or fortitude. If they makes a successful Will or Fortitude save against an attack that normally would have a lesser effect on a successful save (such as a spell with a saving throw entry of Will half or Fortitude partial), they instead completely negates the effect. An unconscious or sleeping Draconic Champion does not gain the benefits of mettle.
Improved Power Attack (Ex): A 3rd level Draconic Champion’s power attack damage modifier is increased by 1. Gain a +3 on melee damage rolls for every -1 penalty he takes when using the Power Attack feat for two handed weapons and +2 for one handed weapons.
Ironclad (Ex): A Draconic Champion’s body begins to become dense and functions in many ways as if they were one size category larger. They gain immunity to stun, bleed effects and critical strikes. Whenever an they are subject to a size modifier or special size modifier for an opposed check (such as during grapple checks, bull rush attempts, and trip attempts), the Draconic Champion is treated as one size larger if doing so is advantageous to him. A Champion is also considered to be one size larger when determining whether a creature’s special attacks based on size (such as improved grab or swallow whole) can affect him. A Champion can use weapons designed for a creature one size larger without penalty. The benefits of this class feature stack with the effects of powers, abilities, and spells that change the subject’s size category.
Dragon’s Breath (Ex):The Draconic Champion gains the ability of a dragon’s breath weapon. He has developed glands allowing him to discharge a cone 30’ long of frost, fire, electricity, acid, or poisonous vapor. Damage is based by dragon type 1d8 per Draconic Champion level with a DC 15+DC level. The Champion gains immunity to its own chosen breath type. The Breath weapon recharges in 1d4 rounds.
Fast Healing (Ex): A Draconic Champion is gains fast healing 5, however this fast healing is only effective when they are not fighting (if he is paralyzed, stunned, dying, or simply doing nothing during her turn the fast healing kicks in). The fast healing increases to 10 at 8th level and this ability continues to heal even when they are past negative 10.
Dragon’s Embrace (Ex): (First Molt) The Draconic Champion becomes immune to disease, poisons, ability damage and ability drains. They also gain a spell damage reduction of 5 vs fire, cold and electricity. They can also use and be affected by dragon specific items.
Monsterous Feat (Ex): The Draconic Champion gains one Monstrous Feat and has the ability to choose Monstrous Feats as their Bonus Feats.

He grows 1 1/2 times in size, his weight is multiple by four, gains +2 Strength and his carrying capacity is multiplied by two. They suffer -1 to Armor Class and their Base Movement is increased by 10. Their reach is also increased by 5 feet. This transformation takes 10 days minus the champions con modifier.

Improved Mettle (Ex): When the Draconic Champion fails a Will or Fortitude save against an effect that has a reduced effect if you make the save, he takes the effect as if he had made that save. This allows a Champion to make a normal saving throw vs no save effects.
Great Swathe (Ex): The Draconic Champion may make a single sweeping frontal arc attacking all opponents within his reach doing weapon damage and knocking all opponents back 1d3 (+1/-1 per size difference) x 5 feet. Reflex save DC 10+ Draconic Champion level+ Str modifier, prevents falling. He may do this a number of times per day equal to his Constitution Modifier.

Playing a Draconic Champion
Combat: They are pretty much the melee type; their large numbers of hit points and combat ability make them great at melee.
Advancement: After finishing the Draconic Champion class they often return to a former class or to another combat-based prestige class like Exemplar, Vassal of Bahamet or Talon of Tiamat.
Resources: They are usually loners; a guild full of them would end up in a terrible bloodshed.
Draconic Champions in the World
Draconic Champions when seen are leading a battle against another war machine. Combating an army or their rival Dragon Master allies. There is intense hatred between Tiamat’s forces and Bahamet’s that has lasted through the millennia’s. When opposing faction Champions meet, only one will soon remain as they battle without regard to others to the death.
NPC Reactions: Draconic Champions are given a wide berth. Their mere appearance brings terror and a bad omen of war. Or maybe a savior to a lost cause.
Draconic Champion Lore
Characters with ranks in Knowledge (Local) can research undefeated to learn more about them. When a character makes a skill check, read or paraphrase the following, including information from lower DCs.
|16||Draconic Champions are half-dragon bred for war between the two factions of Tiamat and Bahamet.|
|21||Once a Draconic Champion completes their factions ritual or trials they become sworn enemies of the opposing faction. Hatred is instilled in them, but is unknown how.|
The progress in becoming a true Champion of Tiamat or Bahamet is extremely painful as they transform through various stages. Once their first molt has been completed they are no longer their former race, but something more. Driven for war, apparently stored up from the long and painful transformations and molts, they gain their strength and drive for war. If one comes across your path, run. If one is with you, be thankful they are in a less the destruction mood.
