Thornskin. A creature that touches the dakabaa or hits it with a melee attack while within 5 feet of it takes 3 (1d6) piercing damage. The dakabaa has advantage on checks made to escape a grapple.

Fire Susceptibility. If dakabaa takes fire damage while its Cloud of Pain is charged, it cannot use its Cloud of Pain until it recharges.

ACTIONS

Tongue. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d10 + 3) piercing damage and the tongue is lodged in the target. While the tongue is lodged in a target, the dakabaa can use a bonus action to pull the target up to 15 feet towards itself or remove the tongue from the target. The target can use an action on its turn to make a DC 15 Strength check to pull the tongue out.

Cloud of Pain (Recharge 5-6). The dakabaa shoots poisonous spines in a 15-foot radius around itself. Each creature in that area must make a DC 14 Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 2 (1d4) piercing damage and 5 (2d4) poison damage and is incapacitated until the end of their next turn. On a failed save, a creature takes half as much damage and isn't incapacitated.

A quadruped creature resembling a large sphere on four tentacle like legs and covered in spines. Found in swamp and forest regions, scrounging through the dirt and foliage for carrion and rotting vegetation with its harpoon like tongue. It defends itself with its tongue spike and by releasing its infamous 'clouds of pain', consisting of thousands of minute blades the size of a speck of dust and filled with venom. Typically when attacked it will release a cloud of pain before slowly walking off as its foes are incapacitated by the cloud.
