You conjure a sharp shard of crystal and hurl it at a creature within range. Make a ranged spell attack against the target. On a hit, the target takes 1d10 piercing damage. If the target is wearing metal armor, the crystal shard deals an additional 1d4 piercing damage due to its precise and brittle nature penetrating weaknesses in the metal.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the base piercing damage of the shard increases by 1d10 for each slot level above 1st. The additional piercing damage against targets wearing metal armor remains at 1d4, regardless of the spell slot used.
